Most of us don't camp on this site, and we just would like some questions answered.

I have only been a member of this site for about a month & I'm already tired of the assholes on here. I also would like to know the direct answer to SCCATypeSH's question, as I bought my car to drive, not show. The cosmetics are cool, but the technical info is what I'm into.

Just my two cents...

then stop coming here to read posts... if ur sick of it... comments like that are pretty much asking for more people to come out of the woodworks and say stfu.

I like to work on cars, hell I like to work on everything, hell I got proof, goto www.wam.umd.edu/~pbrown and click on CL winter project. I am not all the time but I get on every so often. You can always email me at pbrown@umd.edu. Take care

this guy just wants to know about common trouble spots to look out for and various repair experiences and maybe how to prevent them as well as working on the car himself. he's not interested in "suping up" his CL. i too am curious about these issues regarding my 2.2 5spd. especially when should i expect to replace my clutch.

btw. clgenious i liked your pictures and everything but why not just buy a prelude. they're just as cool as the CL. i understand the civic swaps because they are smaller and lighter and having a bigger engine is cool in a dumb little civic but the cl and prelude are very similar. do u really hate how the preludes look?

have fun..don't post until you search...you'll probably get all your answers without posting one question

Thanks man, I think that is the answers some of us are looking for. Also thanks to the others who answered the question accordingly.

being a 4 speed auto doesn't mean much, it's probably a benefit if you have a turbo

Post specific questions rather than a general who knows what. Generally judge by post count and rep. Thats how i go about this board, and it has taken me far. My mentor, as noted before was Dustbuster4, he taught me alot. For some reason alot ofs have been shooting me pm's about questions lately.......i feel loved and knowledgable

I was really disapointed when I bought the CL, esp. after starting to restore a hot rod and doing some work w/ bseries motors, etc. I figured the CL would be a good platform to work w/, boy was I wrong, 3 trannies later i've come to the conclusion that there is nothing cost effective for these motors.

and i'm insulted none of you homo's called me a guru, I think I was the first person on this board to do anything :P

I looked into that. They do. Cost your core and about 800 bucks or something like that. Makes the car shift better in a more performance sense. You can get a street performance one where the car will not waste so much gas. It makes sense if you building a track car because you can get very consistant times and no shifting mistakes.

What it does, is eliminates the 10% slippage that takes place between the impeller and turbine (in the torque convertor) at the coupling stage of operation. It should improve gas mileage, as well as allow more hp to go to the wheels. So yes, it should make it respond better.

But what I can't remember is whether it is bad or good for our gears (clutch pack, whatever). Because either that slippage you get rid of improves the life of the gears, or makes it worse due to more wear on them. I forget....that you might want to look into. But I am going to believe that it would take the life away from your stock gears.
