snow = almost back to stock? ideas?
ok, so first snow of the year, and it's abig one, by the time I got out of work there was a good 3 inches of sluch on teh ground, so I'm driving home and tehre are these HUGE waves of slush coming out from teh sides of the front of my car, for some reason I don't remember ever seeing that happen before, kinda weirded me out. Anyways, I'm lowered, and I am going to be raising the car back up once the snow/slush melts, also I think I'm gonna put the stock air box back in, I'm really scurred of hydrolocking, and I'm gonna rotate my tires.
I also have the plastic liner that goes under the engine bay off, you guys think that could be a problem at all? With all that water/snow spraying up in there, could that rust any parts or cause any belt/hose damage that I should be worried about?
thanks guys for the info.

dang.. everyone turning back to 4x4... haha
u dont have to raise the car back up.. just put the fender lining back on.. your car is gonna get messed up if u dont
and if u could invest in snow tires.. it might be good

I dunno if I worded this correctly, it's not the fenderwall liner that I took out, it's that HUGE plastic peice underneath the engine bay that covers from about the middle of the engine forward. It's got that little piece that hangs down that will scrape on cubs when you park if you pull to far forward at stock height. I guess I'll just have to figure out how to get it back on, and toss the stock airbox back in for now... sigh.

Those peices create engineered airflow patterns and provide some protection from the elements, but you goota figure cars came for many years without engine compartment pannels. Your engine will be fine without it. The only thing that could be a problem is the dirt and crap it throws into the engine bay. As for removing your CAI, why? snow and ice ain't gonna get sucked in to your engine.

It's not the snow or ice that I'm worried about, here in colorado, it snows like mad one day (12+ inches), and then melts all the next day, causing huge puddles of water, and rivers in teh gutters, but I'm usually pretty careful about puddles.
