Seafoam praise...BUT...check engine light on? :(
Ok so I seafoamed the Ackurah yesterday. Did everything accord to textbook.
Slowly sucked in approximately a third of the bottle through the brake booster line and immediately shut down the motor. Then put another third in the gas tank and in the oil case. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
Cranked up the car without hesitation.
However, soon as I fired up the motor for the first time the check engine light comes on....
Let it idle for about 5-10 minutes. Then revved it hard. Typical clouds of white smoke come streaming out the exhaust. Drive it around hard for about 20 minutes...car feels new again. HOWEVER,
it's now been a day later and about 75 miles later and the check engine light is still on. Car certainly doesn't 'feel' like there's anything wrong though.
Is this normal? Car certainly doesnt 'feel' like anything's wrong...feels better than it's been in quite some time...I r confused.

Three Wheelin'
^^^ That's what I was thinking. If the stuff works like they claim it does, all that carbon that breaks loose has to go somewhere. Can you check the code?

check your plugs, thats what happened to me. my number 3 and 4 plugs were shot to hell. if that doesnt work, try unplugging your battery for a couple of minutes, resetting the ecu and clearing the code. the other option is to run the seafoam through the intake again, hopefully clearing the cat and o2 sensors.

you probably got a misfire DTC. We dont use sea foam, but we use a product by a company called BG on the VW's. Whenever we run them, we always end up with misfire codes. Also, you said you opened the brake booster vacuum line whick could also cause a misfire or a lean/false air dtc. Go to autozone, have it checked and clear that shit

As others have said, go to autozone and check the code. It could be as simple as the cat wasn't filtering the air enough when you were revvin the engine, which tripped a code.
Just wanted to add that the code will not clear itself (correct me if I'm wrong), it will stay on until you clear it.

normally happens.....you will usually get a check engine which will go after you disconnect ur battery for 15-20 minutes.....keep ur navi codess and radio codes ready !!!!
btw some facts straight.....u dont use the brake booster line for suction...you use the vac port....and after 10 minutes when u start ur car up....let it idle and take it for a ride and do couple vtec spins !!!!.... hope the light goes away.....
btw did u disconnect any connectors ??? and put the vac line back ???

car's never felt better btw...seafoam is definitely all it's cracked up to be

thanks man!
yes indeed...I felt an immediately difference when I seafoamed...and now with an oil change it feels like a new car again. When I go in for the honda service bulletin to get my plus and distributor changed it should feel basically like it just rolled off the lot

Your Girlfriend is in my
Anything in increased MPG? I'm still wondering if seafoaming a car makes a difference in your MPG... Full tank of gas in mine burns out in less than 4 days.
Sorry, am a noob. Lol.
