SeaFoam and Plugs for the Mistress...
Just did NGK Iridium IX plug change and SeaFoam. Guys, that shit is hilarious. I never seen so much smoke poor out the back of her ass end. Poor suckers behind me were hating life... Anyway, If it weren't for this forum... I'd have never known about that stuff... So, thanks to all you guys for the tips that make CL ownership worth sharing.
Just before the deed...
11K+ miles on the old girl's second transmission
My bro and the Mistress having a sip... Boys, she stumbled... and sputtered... But wouldn't die. Her ECU went nuts... Reported PCV valve vacume failure, and missfires on all six cylinders. OBO2 was behind the ashtray, used full-blown Firestone scanner apperatous to reset the computer after we ran her for a bit to clear out the sensors. Ha... Didn't loose my radio settings.
Smokin' up the lot... Man what a stench.
A little more smoke... That shit was fearce for a mile to the station to fill up... then for a few more miles after that. Oh and that smell is awfull.
Now she is puuuurrrrrrfffffffeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkktttttt!

Nice pix, you're the first to actually post pix of the smoke cloud. How many turns or torque did you use on the spark plugs? I just got the exact same setup, with NGK wires in the mail yesterday. Nice job on the seafoam too, I'm gonna wait a while before I do that, cuz I'm only at 85K but nice work on the pics

I've always just tourged by feel. I should invest in a good tourge wrench. But for plugs I put the handle on my palm for FtLbs, and on the ends of my fingers for inch/lbs. Sounds weird, but it works if you don't have a tourge wrench. the idea is to let the rachet handle cause your hand to shake a little when it is tight. You will never over-tighten that way. Just a trick I use. As for SeaFoam, we adapted the brake booster down to a smaller diamiter. Worked great. Oh, the can says to use SeaFoam every 5K miles for best results.
The pics were taken with my 1.5 megapixel Nokia 3600 camera phone.
thanks, and good luck with the plugs. By the way, the back plugs weren't as big a pain as we thought they might be. Didn't take the plastic shrouds off or anything.

ok im a little confused on how to do this seafoam. with your car on, you let the pcv valve suck up the whole bottle? then you turn it off and let it sit for 30 min? then go get an oil change?
is that right? sorry im a

OK, here you go step by step...
1. Park the car in a well-ventilated area.
2. Get a small cup and poor 1/3 of a pint of SeaFoam into it.
3. Disconnect the brake booster vacume line from the bottom of the brake booster.
4. Adapt the hose down to a smaller size... The booster hose is rather large.
5. Start the engine.
6. Slowly suck in a little SeaFoam at a time...Note, your engine malfunction light is going to flash, the ECU gets a bit upset. Your engine is going to smoke, stumble and sputter.
7. Now try to drown the engine. Let it suck in enough to kill the engine. Mine would not die... You may have to shut it off.
8. Let the engine sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Druring this time, reconnect the vacume line to the brake booster.
9. Start the engine and rev it a little... No more than 3500 rpms untill the engine nolonger stumbles. NOTE: the engine may be a little hard to start. Don't fret, just keep cranking. It will start.
10. When the engine is nolonger stumbling, turn it off and reset the ECU. If you don't have access to an analizer, you can disconnect the positive battery terminal for about 30 seconds.
11. Now take 1/3 of a pint of SeaFoam and put it in you crank case. Start the engine and rev it a little... No more than 3500 rpms.
12. Turn it off and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
13. Drain engine oil, remove and replace filter, replace engine oil.
14. Poor the last 1/3 of a pint of Seafoam into 1/2 full tank of gas. Drive around for a couple of mile. Your car will smoke a little.
15. Top off your tank, and you are done.
16. While burning the first tank of fuel, you will notice a smell that is similar to a radiator leak. It is the fumes from the burning SeaFoam in you fuelk system.
that is it. You are done.
