You can do it yourself. Do a search for keys....There are a couple posts that touch on that and tell you exactly how to do it...2 hours labor for what, a 5 minute thing....ASS RAPING!

i dont think you can do your keys i know you can do the remotes but not the keys, which shouldnt make a difference since you shouldnt have to reprogram them. the key fob monitor is not a part of the ecu. its part of the security system. i think youll be aiit with the origional keys

I dont think they can reprogram the code on the ECU, i think they just read the existing ECU code and make you keys with that code on them cut to your existing ignition key.

This is just a random question. In theroy if the key had a chip in it and the key got wet. They key would not work anymroe right? Is there a small battery in there? I have no idea what or how they work. Shed some light?

The chip inside the key is electromagnetic. It is like an unpowered EPROM. There is no battery, and as long as the plastic part of the key is not damaged or disjoined from the key shaft, it can get as wet as you want. I took my valet key in the river, no problem. I prolly would have carried my regular key, but the FOB is not waterproof. They should make a keyless entry FOB that is waterproof... Oh, I forgot, our cars are 7 to 8 years old. The new RL FOBs ar waterproof and keyless. You just have to have it in your pocket, and turn the thing that looks like a key. Man that is fucking cool.

Now there is a mod for ya', take the RL keyless FOB system and install it on a CL. It would be a perfect application to complement those on the board with "shaved" door handles. WooHoo, go Packers.

You can reprogram the chip in the key, but you have to already have one that matches. Like you can only copy it, not reprogram it.

Here's the transponder programming instructions I found:
1.your new key
2.a MASTER KEY already programmed to car.
----to program the transponder- (thats the immobilizer part)
sitting in dr. seat, put the master key in ignition, and turn to on.engine OFF. press the gas pedal 5 times to floor and release. now press brake 6 times (press and release)
remove master key from ignition. install new key and turn to on...engine off. press gas to floor once. now wait. the security light will blink for about 45-60 seconds, then it will go off if you did it correctly. once the light is off, car should start.

if this works then youve just saved me 100$. and i will thank you, but if i go out there and flood my car to where it wont start im gonna come to oregon and kick you in the ass.

im pretty sure honda transponders cant program off the vehicle. some other manufacturers do work with similar processes like that though.

You can't flood a fuel injected car.

The bold part sounds like you turn the engine on, then turn it off. It's not. You turn the key to the "ON" position, but DON'T start the car.
