Rear Wheel Hop (or something like that)

I have a question for you CL 3.0 Experts.

I purchased my 99 CL 3.0 off of E-bay about 3 weeks ago. Its' in fine shape inside and out, although there definitely was a rear end wreck that has been repaired. I've had the car up to 85 mph and it rides smooth as can be. However.......

If I go over a bump in the road with my rear tires the car seems
to "hop" to the side, ever so slightly. I wish I could describe it better than as a "hop" but thats what it feels like. A slight jolt or hop of the rear end, nothing like I have ever felt driving a car before.

I checked the "bounce" and return of the shocks and they seem to be fine. I'm not an expert and don't really know what to look for in crawling under the car to see if the rear end, springs, etc. are the way they are suppose to be. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Is it something serious that I should have looked at? Is it possible that a car smashed in the rear wasn't repaired correctly, at least as far as the suspension is concerned? Thanks for your advice. MHM

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's normal.

I got rid of that "hop" when I put in lowering springs and switched to adjustable struts.

I used to get that "hop" expecially when cornering on a ramp, where there were joints in the pavement. It's now gone.

Thanks dust. Once again you've come thru for me in helping me realize that my car is just "normal" and since its' an Acura thats
better than most. Good luck in getting your ride back to the way you want it. MHM
