Rear Deck

My bass keeps rattling something in the back and I want to take care of it. I am going to remove the back deck and apply sound deadening material. Can someone tell me how to remove the back deck? Thanks for the help.

I think there are clips in the trunk that hold it in place. I have a buzzing rattle that happens with certain harmonics of bass. It is very annoying.

its clips, and towards the rear of the car, its easier to access the clips on the under side. you also need to unbolt 2 bolts on the underside for the 3rd brake light

I saw some clips and undid as many as I could but it still didnt budge. I did have the brake light undone too. Are there any ones that are hard to find that you could give me a heads-up about? Most of the ones that I saw were on the end furthest towards the back, how many are there on the end closet to the backseat? Do you need to take the speaker grills or ne thing else with the rear speakers off? Thanks!

I have the same problem only with mine the whole back deck vibrates from the bass. The back deck is made out of some bootleged material. Its metal/plastic therefore breakable and bendable. It causes a lot of noise from the vibration caused by the bass. I was thinking on redoing the whole back. I wanted to remove the back seat, remove back deck cover and try to reinforce the deck with some thin ply wood. If possible I would completely cut out the deck and custom make something nice. Too bad summers gone and I dont have a garage to do all this.

Yea, that is what I was thinking about also. I have the factory spoiler with a brake light in it, so I wanted to take that one in the window out too. Then probably redo the deck in some kindof leather maybe, i dont know. But anyways, I cant figure out how to get the back deck out to do this. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

you do not need to take out the grill... the problem could be the trunk wire [ the wire that acutally pushes up ur trunk hinges]..which is located under the rear speakers

Can anyone tell me how many clips or screws or anything there are in the rear deck to take it out?? I cant find all of them, are there any tricky ones or ones that you arnt able to see?

I have to bandpass my trunk, or it rattles everything. I gutted my trunk, cuz I'm in the middle of dynamatting everything. Including the rear deck. The rear deck depends on how much bass you have too. With my 2 10's @ 600 watts it didn't rattle TOO bad. With my 2 12's and 1500 watts. My entire rear end of my trunk rattles Cracked the support to my wing too. Gonna dynamat the inside of that, then bondo it and paint it as well.
