hopefully buy a valentine 1 cheap off my buddy when I get my turbo, it will be must-have. They're the only way to go in my opinion.

Yeah... Mine was for 55 in a 35.... 300 bucks....

Now anyone who semi knows the law... When a bike cop is radaring people on the side of the road, it was my understanding that he has to be visible from both ways of traffic. Is this true? If so, im going to fight it. He was HIDING behind a big ass sign....

Depends on the laws in LV and Nevada. Here in NC, they CAN hide, and they don't have to have any lights on while parked on the side of the road.

But in MA, they have to be visible with at least parking lights on.

Check local law first.

I thought the only rule on where cops can radar you from was that they can't be in any parking lot/business establishment or private roads/areas.

I've seen cops hide around here... but I don't know if they were radaring then; probably just a scare tactic. The other day I saw a cop parked off the road with his lights off where I see a car parked every single day. May not have been on purpose but it was kind of deceiving if you drive that road all the time.

Cobra 9630 - Had I paid attention to the weak k band I could have avoided doing 75 in a 60 which would have saved me $126.

POP is on the list of useless RD features along with SWS and all that wonderful cobra nonsense (like emergency vehicle detection..... if you cant SEE it coming youre an idiot)

but as for what POP is, its a form of Radar used in some K band and Ka band guns produced by MPH industries............ it uses a short burst of Radar lasting aprox. 67ms (yes thats milli-seconds) to get speed, its known to be so inaccurate that in the gun's manual it says only to use a reading from full on mode to write out citations............ most current high end RDs will pick it off easy, but the POP sensors take of all kinds of filtering so youre subject to alot of falses caused by leaky cobras

theres also a new form of POP that has a duration of 16ms........ the only one that will semi-consistently pick it off is the V1 and thats only by about half the time

POP mode only catches people if there is no one else around because it picks up around a 1/4 radius around where the cop is

Ok great, someone also has the Beltronics Vector 995 up for sale: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/ele/305370000.html

and someone has the Cobra XRS 12 for sale, It was $125 but he said he can go way cheaper: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/for/302218476.html

And here's the valentine 1 I was referring to: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/for/302218476.html

Which would you guys suggest? I dont have to much dough, so keep that in mind...If the V1 is going to be SIGNIFICANTLY superior I coiuld scrounfge up the resot of the money, but i'd honestly rater not.

Thanks again!

Dont touch the Cobra

The V995 is a good model well rounded if its decently priced............ but new, at retail the X50 Red is the same price for more detector

and as for the V1, its an awesome unit, but if you cant spare the funds, dont bother......... the 995 should be good enough

Ok cool. I made an offer on the V995 of $100, if he accepts, i'll go with that one.

I also made an offer on an X50 for $140 on ebay, I highly doubt he'll accept though.
