My new set-up has not been timed yet.

A cool day and drag radials should yield me a sub-14 sec 1/4-mile (13.8 to 13.9) on the 75-shot. When I ran my 14.05 last year, it was in Oct or Nov with street tires/stock wheels (massive wheel spin) and with my dry N2O set-up.

I hope to run .2 faster with the 100-shot. I'd be happy with a 13.6 to 13.7.

My GUESS is that I'll run a mid- to low-15 sec 1/4 mile without N2O and drag radials/stock wheels--not that I'd really need them, but they'll be on at the time).

I dunno...Just sounds a little too fishy. I could be wrong...but whateva.
Well dust ran a 14.05 with the n2o, but has never broken 15 without the spay. So it's AT LEAST a full second slower without it. Probably more.

Fastvtecl might be able to hit 14's without the n2o, i'm not sure. Someone ask him what his best non spraying time is. He has alot more than bolt on's tho.

Ummm....Keith ONLY has boltons as far as I know.

And D4 just needs to run it sans N20 (Read post above...Straight from horses mouth)...

So...The 3.0s can be in 14s with JUST boltons.

To add fuel to the fire, I recall reading a post where Kieth acknowledged a run in the high 14's BEFORE he sprayed.

Maybe he can confirm this.

I'm trying to think what further "bolt-on's" I would need to get a sub 15-sec. 1/4 mile.

Possibilities: racing cat; under drive pullies; msd ignition & coil; tuned VAFC; ??????? I'm not convinced that I could hit the 14's, normally aspirated.

heh.... at least we all dont drive sport-shift preludes.

Rick... vafc, pulleys, gutted cat, typeS cams, port and polish, and a displacement bump would get you into the 14's.

Hey i held off my friends trans am from a 25 mph roll. I just stayed in first until 25. He had to wait for the down shift, i was a car length ahead, needless to say i saw tail lights as soon as it shifted.

hey dust arent you worried about stressing the stock tranny that much? a 100 extra hp through it would be just about enough to go boom! I've never seen anyone put more then a 75 shot on a j30 block. I would like to see the results. I've considered n20 myself, but I would rather just save my money for the tranny upgrade when it comes out on v6p.net. I think the cl 3.0's are a lil quicker then the av6, but its only marginal, I've beat a couple cl's before. But neither of these guys seemed like they were into race. I remember both being slammed with 19" overweight chrome wheels and too much bass. So I dont think it was fair. The acura/accord 3.0's have alot of potential. But the transmissions dont permit too much modification w/o breaking a bearing. Btw v6p.net has a deal on headers that would fit your cl's. Stone headers being sold out of the UK. First dyno results showed a 20 hp difference. If you want to go faster.. its only 400$ new, best bang for the buck right there if you want to be a lil quicker. -Jai

I am installing the stone headers and they are a bitch. The need to be cut and rotated in 2 places- then cut and extended in two places. If you want cheap headers get the obx.

I thought for sure that my tranny would be destroyed by now. :boom:

Strangely enough, it's running better than ever. Mechanically, I'm sure it's really worn out, but it "feels" great!

I already have the OBX headers on the car. I installed them last October. So far, they've been great (and without the horror stories that I'm hearing from installing Stone headers on a 1st Gen CL).

I'll wait and see what comes about from the v6p.net tranny project. I may able to get a custom-built (and bullet-proofed) tranny for less $$$. We'll see.

well, I was unaware of the custom work needed to bolt headers onto the cl. Im considered obx myself over the stone, although stones results are great.. just cause its cheaper. I still havent seen dynos of differences with the obx. How much of a difference would you estimate they make? I was thinking of maybe getting that next or an oem lip kit. does it mess with emissions? btw I would like to see the results from that 100 shot. Hopefully no booms, also, where are you getting this bullet proof tranny from? I would like to know, im in the area and I am looking for someone who could do such work for a reasonable price. Can you fill me in? - Jai
