i have a '97 cl 2.2. so far ive put a cold air intake and headers. ordered coilovers and a short shifter kit, wanting to do all around aftermarket brakes, cluth 7 flywheel, and bushings. i drive my car to have fun when at home (work out of town) trying to get it ready for a summer visit. im open toadvice and suggestions. also thinking of a 360 degree audio/video setup for same car.

How's it and welcome. I just did an overhaul of my system and ill tell ya it's a pain. If yer planning to do some crazy stuff I recommend a new high amp alternator. Maybe an optima yellow to go along. Make sure u use zero gauge wire to hook up the alternator ( part of the big 3. Google it).
If you're going double din I recommend the pioneer brand. I've never been disappointed. I've had an avic d3 and just recently upgraded to an avic z110bt (with the 130 upgrade).
ONLY STICK WITH CEA CERTIFIED AMPS. Trust me I've had cheap shit and cea cert stuff is far more superior
Other than that everything is more or less personal pref.
U got pics of your ride ?

Sounds like a good start so far, I also would like to see pics, especially once the coils are on, what coils did you go with?

If you want a new system, don't get stuff at your local Best Buy or store like that. Stores like that, and even online places that sell the same equipment, overcharge for a lower quality product than you can get from places that primarily sell online or through high end dealers. You'll need to set aside a budget for the whole car, then pick pieces 1 at a time, otherwise you can easily end up spending $10k on audio alone (believe me, I've planned out more than a few builds that are $15k plus, just for equipment).
As for the electrical system, you'll definitely want to upgrade that, especially if you're planning on running more than ~1500w of actual power. Just because an amp says it will provide a given amount of power, doesn't mean it's actually putting that power out, keep that in mind. There are also far better brands than Optima for batteries, and alternator companies that can provide alts that put out up to 320 amps of current, depending on how big you want to go.
