Questions on an H22a swap

Questions on an H22a swap

i am planning on putting an h22a in my cl soon. I have heard that it is a direct swap with no aftermarket motor mounts needed. i have also heard that the 5 spd tranny matchs up. Are these things true? if anyone has any info on this swap please respond.

yes your mounts work.. and the 5 speed or auto tranny would bolt up.. but the gear ratios are different then an h22a's tranny.. so its easier to get a complete conversion kit.. ie: tranny engine ecu wire harness.. pretty much everything.. and the best year h22a is a 96 because its closed deck and a bit stronger.. i can get you almost any year jdm spec h22a you want tho.. drop me an email at r0dent@bellatlantic.net

i want an h22... how much it prob gonna run me for swap, kit, install. , n everything? n do you think its worth it..

Is it worth it....without a doubt. A jdm h22a with tranny and ecu will run around $2,000-$3,000. The prelude engine bolts right in with the exception of one mount that has to be slightly modified so you don't need a kit. Install prices range were you get it done, anywhere around $400 and up. It will take atleast 10 hours to do the swap. One other problem you'll run into is that the headers from the lude block are longer than our headers, so you have to take you car to a muffler shop so that can cut a couple inches off our exhaust piping.

Fode one question, would you recomend putting an obdII or obdI engine in our obdII cars? I know that obdI is better cause its easier to modify but will it work in our cars without any problems? Thanks man

yah obdI just requires a little more work for the person doing the swap.. but its not that big of a deal.. for price quotes on engines drop me an email at r0dent@bellatlantic.net we'll have a web site up shortly.. but until then its being handeled over email..

is doing a h22 swap with the lude AUTo tranny easier since u dont have to do the new pedals and chang eout gauge clusters?. has this been done? Just a curious thought since some people may want to kepp an auto tranny. Also i heard all this stuff about going fast and having alot more power by doing the swap but what i heavent heard u guys talk about is the RELIABLITY of the swap. i mean is the car going to run like its from the factory with no probs or do u constantly have o fix something. I need my car to last as a daily driver and cant deal with problems. So how close can it actually be as if it came out the dealership with an h22??? Thnaks in advance for ur responses
