Question for anyone w/ knowledge of subwoofers!
Ok, so i'm planning on getting my subs soon. But I have a quick question...the subs come in two types. They are dual voice coil 4 ohms, or dual voice coil 2 ohms. I want them to show a 2ohm load to the amp. So would i get the 2ohms? or 4ohms? also how would I go about wiring them? thanks
Oh btw, im getting two of them

Wassup Klepto,
You want 2 subwoofers wired in 2-ohm mono correct?
What sub you getting? Usually, DVC's come with two 8-ohm coils, you wire those in parallel on both subs and you wire both subs in parallel to get 2-ohm mono.
But since you say that you either get 2-ohm or 4-ohm per each coil, you get the 2-ohm DVC's and wire those in series to make them 4-ohm speakers...then you wire the two speakers together in parallel to present a 2-ohm mono load to your amplifier.
What amp and subs are you getting. I used to seel and install stereos so I can help you out with what you want oout of your system. have fun.
also...check you www.jlaudio.com
they got a great tutorial section thats talks about how to wire subs up....

I was just wondering which ones to get so i would get a 2ohm load with the amp. thanks. Im looking for a good cheap amp to power these two, any suggestions? i was planning on getting a JBL 1200.1, its 1200x1@2ohms.

sup!
the type-r's and the jbl would be BADASS!
its hard to find 1000W+ amps that run 2-ohm mono...most do it at 1 ohm mono.......
so get the 2+2 speakers...wire em in series, then wire in parallel to get 2-ohm mono.....
thumbs up to your choices
