hi
i open my car gearbox and tomorrow i will install the clutch and pressure plate.before installing i like to know can i install the clutch with out resurfacing the flywheel?my car have only 172 km on it.
if its important to resurface where do i need to take the flywheel to resurfacing?or should i sand papper little to make it rough?

you do not have to change your flywheel with your clutch. it would be considered insane to do so.
steel flywheels = oem which can be resurfaced just as rotors can. they do not get changed unless they crack and shatter from the heat. it is unusual because they usualy do outlast the life of the car but it can happen.
cromolly flywheels = aftermarket. stronger than steel. lighter in weight and in my opinion the best choice if you are replacing. can be resurfaced.
aluminum flywheels = aftermarket. my opinion not as dependable. i have heard that they cannot be resurfaced but inserts can be changed.
Resurfacing the flywheel shouldn't cost more than $20. When you resurface you make even, flush and flat. NOT rough. just do it man. When dropping your tranny make sure you disconnect the VSS because it is kinda hidden. you dont wana rip it out. also when mounting the tranny you will need patience and make sure you use the aligning tool. tq properly. flywheel bolts are 76ft/lb and clutch at 25ft/lb. verify before you procede. goodluck

I went stage 2 clutch from Competition Clutches and just got a lightened flywheel from Fidanza while i was at it. Its a nice combo.

Growing up, we never ever locked our doors.
Funny story. We were in Vacouver visiting some family and we went to a hockey game. My dad left the keys in the car, car running and doors unlocked. Someone turned off the car, locked the doors and took the keys to lost and found... Never would have happened in the states.
