Protential 97 3.0 CL owner needs your help

Hi all, new to this forum. Hope you guys can help me to decide if I should got this 3.0. I went for a test drive today and noticed that when the car is going at slow speed (20-40 mph), I can feel a lil trumble on the gas pedal. That happens whenever I'm trying to give it more gas. After it past about the 40mph range, it's smooth. I'm wondering if that is something major like transmission or engine problem or is it just something like changing the spark plugs. Also, the AC wasn't working before and the guy said that he took it to a mechanic and he said it only needs some freon. I was thinking to myself, if the freon's gone, there has to be a leak somewhere, right? But why the mechanic says there's no leak. Now the owner has put some freon in and it works ok now. That probably means the compressor is not broken, right? If I can have some inputs from you guys it'll be a lot of help.
PS. I even called the honda dealer (no acura dealer here) to see if they can check the car out for me, they say they don't really do that. So what I'm doing is kind of like a leap of faith. Please help!! If I can get this car, i'll take you all out to have a pizza party

Well, first off, welcome to the board. I am going to move this to the First Gen. forum where you'll probably get more replies, but first I'll reply....

That "vibration" you're feeling is normal. I'm not sure of the exact explination, however, my '98 CL 3.0 had it and my TL-S has it, so it seems to be an Acura thing!! Good luck!

You know there is a service that will come to you and check out the car. I think it costs like 75 or 100 bucks. Look it up on the internet. If you're worried about it, have them check it out and also run a carfax on it. I have a 2.3, so I don't know much about the vibration, but I don't have it.

See, this kind of service probably doesn't exist where I am. I feel like I'm on "Survivor" where there's nothing around I've ran a carfax on it and it dosen't have any records at all. I think it's b/c the previous owner had bought the car from the dealer in Miami and shipped it directly over here. So no title was registered. What do you think?

I didn't see that you were in the Bahamas. You probably need the AC there. I guess I would try to find a good mechanic and throw him some loot to check it out.
