how do you know if your cl is the premium version or not? is it because of leather? leather = premium, cloth seats = not premium?
maybe there's a bad that says "premium" lol

There is no badge, it's by features, if you have leather with heated seats, and bose system with bose amp, THAT'S premium, if you don't have all those, you got

wow my cl has leather interior...but i remember when i took out my stock headunit, it was matsushita (the panasonic brand..sorry if i spelled it wrong)...it wasn't bose...hmmm...
what kind of speakers does the first gen stock cl have? does it matter if its premium or not? lets say its premium..what kind of speakers are they? alpine? infinitys?

so what kind of speakers did the car come with from factory? i know the ex v6 models for accords in 98 had alpine speakers......and i heard from someone that our first gen cl might have infinity speakers....someone please clarify it for me. thanks

Leather seats weren't exclusive to the Premium.
Acura decided to equip all '99 with leathers as a standard for both 2.3 & 3.0 models.
An easier way of telling instantly if it was Premium version:
1. Rear deck spoiler
2. Heated front seats
3. Two additional motorized positions for Driver-side seat

To clear up the confusion and to possibly correct my own post earlier, it appears there were more differences between the Standard VS. Premium models during the first 2 model years, then the last year of the 1st Gen life cycle resulted in lesser differences.
For those who really wanted more in-depth details of the differences between standard vs. Premium, and between 2.x & 3.0...
Here is the ultimate reference details, please check it out for your model year:

I hope this helps those who are interested in knowing more about the actual differences over the course of the 1st Gen's.

1. for the 3.0 premium owners..does the BOSE amp make a big difference in the sound quality/ loudness?
2. what kind of speakers does the 97 2.2 premium have? just honda speakers or are they name-branded?

my mom has a 94 accord and her stock system sucks(dont know if it's the same as a 2.x cl but i'm assuming).....it is night and day vs my 3.0 bose.the bose amp puts out .0001 watts but it does make a difference,it's not as loud as i would like,but for stock the bass is not bad and the highs/mids are clear & hearable.it's the best stock sound system i ever had in a car..
just wondering do the 2.x's have the 6-speaker or only 4?(looking for something else to rip a 2.x on,as if there isn't enough)

In an older car maybe... the bose has some bass and decnent mid range... but with a new head unit, amp, and subs, mixed with the speakers can make for a nice system.

The Blose system is alright, till you blow the 6x9's 
I was on my 2nd set of stocks when I swapped out to my 4 ways

i dont know if the 2.3 speakers are a name brand or not, but they arent that bad at all.....it did make a big difference to replace the head unit....but i play them load and they hold some alright bass (i am just dont want to blow them)
