looks like its coming off, tape is old and falling apart.. i will need to reinstall it.. do you guys jus use 3m double sided tape? could someone tell me the correct tape to use?.

to install im geussing this is how you do it, get 3m double sided tape, stick it on and screw.. simple as that?

ZeroCL Aug 4, 2008 02:57 PM

They sell 3m Double Sided MOLDING tape. Its for car moldings etc. It has a red backing to it. And yeah pretty much tape and screw it in is how you would do it.

i haven't put one on, but i've heard some say you might want to scuff up the places you are applying the tape.

Clean all the old tape off, clean the areas with alchohol, apply 3M molding tape, throw in some screws, and you're good

yeah..some people just sell it with the tape still on it ^^ :tomato:
haha naw it really wasnt that bad. I just grabbed a shitty cd and just scraped it all off and that worked for me.

AznX TL Aug 4, 2008 06:07 PM

haha, i got it the same way when it came in for me. it took me atleast 30mins of razor and goo-gone.

johnnyblaz3 Aug 4, 2008 06:21 PM

sounds pretty striaght forward... get old tape off, clean very well with alcohol(im gona try gasoline), reatach with 3m double side tape.

also does anyone know where the jacking points for the 2 rear wheels are besides the
spear tire jack points... i just picked up 2 jack stands and cant seem to get the jack stands on the spare tire jack spot, with the oem spare tire jack. if that makes sense

johnnyblaz3 Aug 4, 2008 06:33 PM

cant seem to find a good solid jacking spot... doing rear suspensions right now soo any help would be very nice!! ill also post up some pics after my suspension is done!!

AznX TL Aug 4, 2008 06:34 PM

don't use the oem tire jack, you're gonna end up bending it.......i know from first hand experience.
buy a new floor jack, then jack up from the rear tow hook high enough to get the jack stands on the jack points.

97BlackAckCL Aug 4, 2008 07:03 PM

There's jack points all over the car

johnnyblaz3 Aug 4, 2008 07:55 PM

u sure? i could only find 2 near the front(not the spare tire jack) and none in the rears, cept the spare tire jack stand and the one in themiddle rear near the tow hooks... geuss i just need to look for bare solid metal, kknock on it and it its solid its good to go

make sure you get the grey double sided tape from 3m not the black stuff. the blacks good for some things but for the lip id use the grey stuff there really easy to get mixed up.
