i have the same freakin problem. started about two months ago. power steering assist cuts in and out intermittently while i'm turning the wheel quickly (ie, u-turn, parallel parking, etc) not cool cause i also almost ran into a curb the first time it happened... i've removed the power steering pump and checked out the insides, but it was fine. tried a power steering fluid flush; didnt help... next i'm trying a new power steering pump belt... i doubt it'll work cause the tension on my belt is fine, but it's worth a shot... the next thing i'm lookin at it is either the steering gearbox needing adjustment, or a replacement ... sorry i cant offer any help... anyone else got any ideas?
