Power Draw !!

Hi Hi,
Has anyone noticed a big power draw when driving, especially at night. I notice that whenever the cooling fan turns on, I see the lights from my gauges & interior panels get dimmer for a second. Is that normal ?? Anyone ??

Thanks

Unfortunately I think it's normal, I noticed this on mine and one of my co-workers 3.0 CL's.....

Same here. I thought the electrical system could be bad since my driver door actuator and the trunk actuator went bad... but I guess its normal if everyone sees it.

Yeah same here, but I believe it is because our cars are Low emission vehicles (LEV) Also, when you have less fuel in your car or when it is colder, it might take your car a little more cranking power to get a spark in your engine. All for mother nature

yup, yup... my car does the same... It sucks too, I have a couple amps running too and that just makes it too much, I'm always switching my a/c off to try to same some power. I wonder if there is any fix to it, besides adding a cap or something, I guess we could re-build our alternators. I would think though that the factory would put one in there that was powerful enough to begin with... Oh well... I'll leave it as one life's little mysteries.

That's funny, I haven't noticed it at all. But then again, it appears that all you guys have the 3.0CL. Would this make a difference?

This happens in my car too. That's the main reason why i won't buy the pullies for the car. I have a 1000+ watt system in the car and I need my alternator power.

Oh well...

...speakin of pulley's, isn't it possible to just get the lightweight pulleys and still get an extra 10 to 15 hp?? anyone heard of these?

the pulleys would actually make it easier for the enigine to run so it should actually cause less power draw. And yes the pulleys do give somewhere around 10-15 horses, but you should still take it somewhere to get it done for proper belt alignment, unless if you feel comfortable doin stuff like that.

Question 2007 MDX power draw

I have a 200 mAMP draw that shoots every few minutes causing my battery to drain over night. Honda and Acura have looked at it and haven't been able to find the problem.
Anybody have an idea.
