I have noticed recently that there is a smell of gas coming from my car. I have checked for Fuel leaks, place cardboard under car, look for gas on ground. I have no signs of an acutal leak. Can I have a fume leak?
In addition the splash on the bottom of my car broke so I have only partial piece of it in the front. Is this used also to keep the fumes from leaking through? My car drives fine and I am getting the same gas mileage I always have, so this is baffling me.

Any tips, tricks, or help?! thanks

I would suggest getting it checked out. If fuel is leaking, it won't necassarily end up on the ground. Especially if its a very small leak. If you've got fuel dripping around your exhaust, or in the engine compartment, that is something you deffiently want to get fixed.

it also could be your o2 sensors. if they are going out, they will cause the car to run rich

Is the smell from the engine bay? Check the fuel rail.
