Please speak up to whoever aimed their headlights !!
Hi Hi,
Whoever has aimed their headlights ..... either horiztally or vertically. How did U correctly aim them ?? Base on the output from the wall or from the balance gauge U see ?? The reason that I ask this is because the gauge somehow is misleading if U adjust them to '0' mark, and the result is showing U one higher and one lower. Does everybody have this problem with their CL ??

Balance gauge

I don't like them that way, and aim them manually by sight. This is not necessaruly legal, but then again, I'm not aiming the lights into the eyes of on-coming cars either.
I make them pretty much even, with the driver's side slightly lower. I also point the passenger side a little towards the white line on the right side of the road.

Nothing happened to the horizontal adjuster !!
Hi Hi,
After a couple attempts trying to adjust the headlights horizontally, the result is ...... nothing happened !! I turned the L|R gear 2 times to the left, and the beam pattern on the passenger side is still pointing to the far right compared to the left. Any comments on this ??
I could successfully aim the headlights vertically regardless of the gauge showing, and I decided to aim them just by looking at the wall. But somehow the beam pattern on the right is sharper and more intense than the other.

alright, here’s my headlight aim story. I’m night blind and haven’t owned a car without aux lighting. when I bought my cl, the stock low beams looked invisible while the high beams were incredibly bright, so I installed PIAA platinums all around rather than fog or driving lights. it seemed like a good solution, except that the PIAAs appeared enough brighter than stock to overshoot the housing (both low and high beams were way out of alignment). so I started hassling with headlight aim - kind of an endless nightmare for obsessive compulsive people. eventually you just have to call it a day, but first you need to know how to adjust your headlights.
the horizontal adjustment on the cl isn’t so difficult if you’re turning the right gear. ok, so you found the gray gear with the little arrow. see the metal gear with the little claws that’s threaded into the gray gear with the arrow? that one actually adjusts the headlight housing and that’s the one you want to turn. it’s hard to turn and you’ll have to use your hands. I use the gray gear for reference only to make sure I’m adjusting in the right direction.
as far as the level for vertical adjustment… once I discovered that the lights were overshooting the housing I used the level as a ballpark reference only.

the real solution for night vision was to install factory fogs with PIAA ion-crystal 55-85W bulbs.
