please help noise when using aux-cd changer converter

Hi guys, just bought one of those aux input that plugs into the cd-changer port. Plug ipod in, the sound plays through fine, but there is a small "beep beep " noise in the background.. And it seem that the alternator noise is in there too. Any idea? Any way to eliminate them? thank you guys..

The beep may be an error signal... You can isolate the power supply to eliminate the ignition system noise. There is probably a pin in the adapter that needs to be jumpered...

I know it isn't much, but if you could give us more nfo, ie, the brand of the adaptor.

I have no idea what the "beep beep" sound you are talking about is...

But if you are getting a whining noise that gets louder as you press on the accelerator, then you need a GLI (Ground Loop Isolator). You can get one at Radio Shack.

Also, this post belongs in the Audio/Video forum, not here.

Thanks for the reply guys.

the adapter I bought was http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=340 and what do you mean by jumpered? The beep is really annoying... :-(

I will also get a ground isolator to eliminate the engine noise..

I'm planning to get the PIE aux input to play my MP3 player in my CL too but where exactly is the cd changer port located? I know it's somewhere in the trunk.

Did you also eliminated the beeping noise? if so, how? if not, is it normal for that beeping noise to occur? thanks
