Please help!! ebgine troubles
99 2.3 CL stick
Today while driving, I was accelerating and the engine fell on its face and stumbled at about 3500 rpms. The check engine light came on, and I took it right home. The engine will cut out, and not let me rev more than about 3500rpms, even in neutral. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot guys.

I had a similar problem with my old F23. It started sounding funny then I couldn't accelerate past 3500rpm and the more I drove the car the the more the rpms dropped until the engine just died on me. Oil levels were fine.

I take it this is not a normal condition, where the car cuts itself out at a certain rpm? I got some very different answers. has this ever happened to anyone?

Do the paper clip test. What code does it give you. It might come accurate in telling you the problem.
Count the number of past blinks which are tens. Slow blinks are ones.

The code came up P1259, is there another way to ge a different type of code? Doesn;t the "paper clip" test give you the same code I got at autozone?

This comes from lack of oil pressure, or a faulty solenoid. Turns out tat the screen to the solenoid had gunk on it, I cleaned it out, cleared the code, and all is well. Thanks for the help guys.
