Painting stock side skirts? Need help
I brought an air dam the other day and I'm having it painted the same color as my car(blue). So I went to a body shop today to see about getting the black stock side skirt and the rear end painted the same color also and was told that I couldn't do that.
They said that the texture and material it's made of wouldn't take the paint. Basically, the paint would chip off as soon as I put it on there. I don't want to have two different colors on the bottom of my car. I think it would look silly to have the front blue and on the sides and rear black. I've noticed some pictures of some 97 acuras that have it painted. What did you guyz do to have it painted?

if u prep them right it stays just fine. tell them u dont give a crap and to paint them anyways. if i was you i would sand then down and clean them up and then drop them off at the shop. i did mine myself and it lasted 2 yrs no probs even through nasty nj winters.

if they're properly prepped they can be painted. That shop must not know what they're doing. Its a lot of work and a pain in the ass to sand em down and primer them properly, but it can be done. I paid around $350 to have my skirts and WW lip painted when i got mine done.
