outran a GT-S...
I'm so glad i found this forum..its way cool!! Anyway, thought you guys would like to know that i got the best of one of those new Celica GT-S's the other day...he got me on a slight jump from the light but i had him (by about 1 car lenght) up until about 65 when we both stopped.

u got a 3.0 or 2.2/2.3?? is ur car stock?? also the gear ratios suck on that car and the driver really need to knwo how to keep the engine in the powerband. the fastest 1st gen cl was 99 3.0
0-60 low 7's. the gts should have beaten u stock and the 1/4 i think they shoudl beat u also. still u showed him up. plus he has a girly looking car. i beat a lude once cuz of the driver also. i wish my car really was faster. still if ur not stock and u got a 3.0 then u should defintiely showed him up. good work.

Well, this girl that I'm talking to has a new Celica GT-S that she has been letting me test out. Anyway, the other night we were in my car and I was testing the acceleration, braking and cornering abilities of my car. Nothing major, just a quick little run. Then she asks if I want to drive her car to test out. Here are my findings. The acceleration on the GT-S sucks in comparison to my 3.0. I will kill this car off the line and up to top speed. I tried it in Manual and normal automatic. However, I must say that the GT-S handles wonderfully and the braking is first rate!!! I was easily doing over 110 when someone pulled in front of me and no problems in braking, not even tire screech. I think that the car is sweet, but in stock form needs to have better acceleration.
If you have a 3.0 you have no problems eating this car up and spitting it out. If you have a 2.2/2.3, you better be skilled and hope your not going through S-curves!
