Other tranny for F22 engine?

Is there another tranny that will bolt up to my F22 engine? Possibly a H22 tranny... will anything get more out of the power of my engine, my tranny is too family car oriented. Its also shot I believe... and instead of paying someone to tell me its shot, im gonna save the money and just get a new tranny.

Will shorter gears get more power out of my car? not looking for top speed, just acceleration. will anything else be needed if I can swap the tranny? And no, I dont have the money for a full H22 swap.

One more thing, is the F23 5 speed tranny the same as mine?

you can use the h22 or h23 trannies..they will bolt up perfectly
the h22 tranny will give you the quickest acceleration of the two....but both trannies have shorter gears than the f22 or f23 trannies

the h23 tranny is prob. about $200 less than the h22...you WILL notice the deifference

hope this hepls

yeah, I really dont like the long gears... my brother had a 00 SI, and that was like perfect... I like shifting!!

So I still have something to gain with a h23 tranny, right? Ive been looking and a h23 tranny isnt too much more than a f22/23 tranny.

Now, I also know a better clutch and flywheel will definatly give me a little power... my clutch is on its way out, its origional to the car (86,000 miles on it)... I could have gotten a little more life out of it, I know... but it wasnt nessecarily meant for taking a real beating. (oops, lol) So what can I go with, and not have to sell my liver to afford it? How is Centerforce? They are reasonable priced, and suposed to have 90% more grip than stock. I just want something that will take abuse better than the stock clutch and give me a little more life. So I might as well change that and the flywheel when I have the tranny off.

Thanks!

All the H and F series flys and clutches are the same for manual trannies
