one of my headlight bulb is busted..

I just called up acura to get pricing for a headlight bulb and came out to be 131.80+tax...wtf.!??!? I thought it be around 30-50 bulks....r there aftermarket bulbs for the 99cl?? I'm thinking of getting the bright white ones but my friend told me that they'll die in 4months is this true??

By busted, do you mean that the bulb burst(shattered) in the headlight? Or is it just burnt out. $131 is outrageous if it's just for the bulb, they might be trying to replace your whole headlight assembly. If you just need bulbs, there are hyper whites or replacements that you can get, the most popular ones used by us are Nokya Artic Whites, Sylvania Quickstars, or PIAA's. The bulb sizes are 9006 for low beam, and 9005 for high beam. And any of those bulbs will definatley last longer than 4 months.

not to mention that you can also do the 9006->9005 conversion for low beams, but that requires shaving off some of the plastic on the bas of the 9005 bulbs which is kinda risky since if you get the actual glass part dirty, say goodbye to the bulb.

thanx man...these are the answers I needed. I just called acura again and it's 12.38 for the low beam so apparenly the person I spoke to earlier gave the the price for the whole assembly.

ya, 131.80+tax for one stock headlight bulb would be pretty crappy.. my aftermarket ones are nice, some asain brand ones.. some ppl asked if they were HIDs ... FOOLS
