the cold air intake will go lower normaly in the fender or in that area to pull colder air. Colder air=more power......short ram will pull from the top of the motor which is normaly more hott. THe cold air will pull outside air in while the short will pull inside the engine bay air. Cold air=better-=more power.

I think he knows that, but what is cold air short ram intake? A short ram and cold air intake are two different types, and he's saying cold air short ram, like both of them combining together. Almost sounds like a V2

not always but yes if it has a bad design in the bends it will perform badly. all intakes are pretty much the same in the bends bc they all have to go TO the same place FROM the same place. also filter elements are CRUCIAL. shitty element=shitty performance.

some people say SR is better and some say CA is better. but if you had a SR that had a sealed cold air feed, you might have something. some SRIs have an optional ram air conversion. its basically a box or cylinder that fits over your element and then has a pipe going into your bumper grill with a medium-sized collection funnel at the end. or you could just get one of those cryo2 intake chargers and have it installed around your intake pipe. somehow it uses liquid CO2 to drastically lower the temp of the air inside your intake tube therefore boosting power.(to about 4*F compared to about 90-100* inside the engine bay.) if you had both you could probably expect some pretty decent power gains on both end of the powerband.

i believe the only true way to accomplish that is with a SRI and a hood scoop. conventional CAIs are not short so they could never be a true SRI unless its finding a shorter route to a cold air source.

i saw a write up on a mustang...( back when i had one) and a guy actually did a temp difference. at idle it was only a 20 deg difference, then after he hit 5 mph it was only a .5 degree difference. the cold air only benifits mostly from the stop. however the sri benifits in top end, since its more of a ram air. and the cai almost looses air cause of the speed going acrost the fender. like sucking the water out of a water bed using the water attatchment.

thats why they need to make CAIs that get cold air from the grill where air is intended to be collected(ya know bc of the radiator and shit).

god that would suck to have one of those.. you'd have to cover everytime it started raining.... also it would cost 100 to replace the filter you know how fast that would get dirty damn fast
