Angry oil pan replacement questions

OK, so I was installing my exhaust headers a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed that there was a little drip coming from the oil pan drain bolt, so I just took it in to day tot have them look at it and they couldn't even get the drain bolt out, they could tighten it a bit, but it's not coming out... meaning I cna't change my oil when I need to.

Since they were the last ones who changed the oil they said they would split the cost on the oil pan, but I would still have to pay the labor. They quoted me $150 on the oil pan $80 of which I have to pay. Then $143 for 1.8 hours of work for the labor. totallying $243 for me. I just looked online and found that I would get an oil pan from acura automotive parts for only $68 + shipping. Unfortunately I don't have $268 to spend right now, so i was wondering if I could just change the oil pan myself...

does anybody know how difficult it is to change an oil pan? Looks like just a couple bolts to me, plus I have to deal with all the goddamn opil that's still in the engine... how the hell an I gonna drain that?

Also... Dustbuster4 mentioned on the header install thread that the oil pan is what causes our headers not to fit, so if I were to install an oil pan from a hond accord V6 then I would just be able to bolt come headers right up without any modification right? of was there other problems?

Ideas anyone?

better get a helms for that you need the exact torque specs. recommend getting a new oil pan gasket too while you are at it. If you have mechanical expierence, torque wrench, and a lift it shouldnt be that hard.

yeah, I found that, and I'll see if I can get them to split the cost with me on those oil pans, but what I really think they mean by "split the cost" is that they'll give it to me for how much they spend on it. essentially making no profit.

I went in and talked to them and they even offered to split the cost for me on the labor. which would make it about $150 total for parts and labor, which is a hell of a lot better than the $250 they were gonna charge me at first. I think I'll just go through them on the part sine they are splitting the cost with me and they have done me a lot of "favors" already in the past.

And by "favors" I'm completely serious. they've done alot of stuff for me for free or very cheap, so I definitely trust them. completely family owned and they are a very nice group of people. thanks anyways guys. peace out.
