Oil pan removal
Hello all. I have been lurking these forums for a while now reading information and i have found a lot of answers to my questions. Very informative stuff here i could not find elsewhere! Well, my gf bought a 99 3.0cl about 3-4 months ago and i just performed the first oil change since it has been in her possession. When i tried to put the plug back on the pan it would not tighten at all. As i pulled it back out the threads on the oil pan came out with it. I called around and shops were trying to charge me 80 bucks just to look at it and see if it was repairable so i said screw it, i just bought a new oil pan. My mechanic skills are not the best but i have replaced an oil pan on my old 92 integra due to the same problem. Today i started and got all the bolts off of the pan but i can not get the pan off at all. I know the oil pan on the j30a1 does not use a rubber gasket, they just use rtv silicone to seal it. I tried pulling it off with as much force as i could and used a flat to gently pry it off but just couldnt get the pan to budge. Not sure if i missed some bolts that are hard to see or what but has anyone here taken their oil pan off? If so, what is your advice? I really want to get this done by the end of tomorrow so any help would be much much appreciated. my last resort will be to get the online versuon of the helms manual which is 20 bucks for 3 days

I have the 2.2 service manual, u could try that
http://www.caffeine.nu/~yoda/manual
Extract the .iso 's and then burn the images and install it
That may help, try it b4 you buy one.

Hmm, it says that the removal procedure is not available from the manufacturer. Im starting to think im screwed on this. There has to be a way to get it off though. Thanks for the help so far

I didn't find anything on a 3L oil pan removal, but the following may be an alternative approach.
Oil Pan Repair
Another suggestion is to purchase a Haynes manual (if available), or a 99 Accord 3L V6 manual. This should be similar enough to cover oil pan replacement.
good luck

I had the pan replaced on a TL a few months back and they told me it was stuck on there well but they pried it with something. Oh and they heated it up from what i remember them telling me. I think they said that they ran the engine to the point where the pan was still touchable and not burning their hands. I'll see if I can find out what exactly they used to get it off but that comes tomorrow.
