oh, and by the way......

DONT PAINT YOUR CALIPERS!

I have degreased these bitches for 3 days straight, washed them down, degreased again.

now time to paint, mask everything off...AAARRGH!

im just pissed b/c when I bought high temp heat from the auto store its not the right color!

Chrysler red my ass
its chrysler orange!

And my friend warned me not to get ford red b/c it was orange. I wish the color of the cap was actually the color of the paint!

just another reason to hate domestics.......

Sorry to hear about the problems.

I painted mine about 2 years ago, and the process went smoothly.

I used gloss black which turned out pretty good.

BTW: I didn't worry about masking shit off, I just placed newspaper over things I didn't wanted paint. There was no wind to worry about.

Good luck!

you can take them off ot paint but most leave them on i think

how much you think it will cost to powder coat something like that and how long will the powder coat last?

i think that would be worth the extra money to make it last

i would estimate 100-125 for powdercoating

I left my calipers on while painting...im gonna -repaint everything black under there now, including the wheel well liners for the hell of it, and wait a few days and go with the darkest red high temp heat paint i can find.

Why the hell didn't you spray the paint on something and let it dry to find out the true color?

because being the dumbass that i am, when I see a color shown on a cap, i actually think it's THAT color.

but, it's prolly for the better, i need to paint everything black to hide the rusting of the brembo's from NOT BEING ZINC PLATED.

I used regular Krylon paint on my wifes car 2 years ago and they still look good. I just cleaned them good, primed them, and sprayed them w/ krylon. Unless you run your car on a road course, I wouldn't waste my money on high temp paints.

I used red caliper paint and my joints came out looking just like Brembo's They are a biotch to keep clean though but after a year they still look pretty damn good. Not sure why your having so many issues.

the issue is that the paint shown on the cap should be the color of the paint as i expect it to be that color when i buy it

why would you get a ticket for chromed calipers when people have 22" plates of chrome for their rims??? it is like a f00kin mirror or something.

well, i've finally decided after my rotor hubs being rusted out, this is all the better....

I'm stopping by the auto store again and picking up BLACK paint to paint the WHOLE AREA black as hell, ...hubs, calipers, arms, even the slots and cross drilled hole areas. After 3 days im gonna pick up the darkest red color on EARTH i can find so it comes out as close as possible to the color red our taillights are....

hopefully this way i can get calipers that match out car's body AND get rid on NASTY NON ZINC PLATED ROTORS!!!..........

sorry, still mad that a person who claims to sell "performance" stuff would sell non-zinc plated rotors.....
