Exclamation No vtec in 4th (auto)

Thats right....i guess ive never had it in 4th.... all other gears work perfect....

i did notice before..but didnt pay attention. hardly pass 90mph

here is how it goes.....when i floor it....i have it in all gears except 4th...

around 85-90 (wot) i lose it and its slow to accelerate... it struggles to reach 4k

i have no CELs.... no tranny slippage (tranny cooler) or any sign of damage to tranny
there is suffcient oil....

so in a nut shell...it stays under 4k in 4th and it tops out at about 105

2.2 auto w/v2

it went a little over 140 then i let off..Do you shift it manually to every gear or leave it in d3?...you can get a nice jump top end if you leave it in D4up to 70 then shift down to 3rd and floor it..then when you redline shift it 2 D4 and floor it again your Vtec should be engaged and you should pull up to 130-140 at about 5500-6krpm's..

damn didnt catch that....

[QUOTE=jandj2204]it went a little over 140 then i let off..Do you shift it manually to every gear or leave it in d3?...you can get a nice jump top end if you leave it in D4up to 70 then shift down to 3rd and floor it..then when you redline shift it 2 D4 and floor it again your Vtec should be engaged and you should pull up to 130-140 at about 5500-6krpm's..[/QOUTE]

sometimes i leave it in d3 then shift to 4th round 70 same effect

or just leave it in d4...but when it shifts to 4th it vtec cuts off at 80-90 it gets sluggish

will try what you said tonight.....

if you leave it in d4 does vtec cut out around 90?

no vtec is what probably enables it to reach those speeds..vtec ranges from about 4k-65,7k.

you know what...it might be the fuel filter.....

one more thing...my car would feel sluggish between 0-20mph but after it would pull like normal...

i started riding it harder...(30+)...giving it more gas and it started clearing it up...

now the low end power has returned to me.....fuel injectors might need cleaning

i will buy a fuel filter today after the spurs game....

I almost bought a scion... Man those are funny looking, but the aftermarket support is outragious. I love my CL, just not enough support for body mods. I do like the WW lips.

How would you even know if VTEC isn't activated? Especially in 4th gear, the overdrive gear that's really tall. It's like driving a stick in 5th. You're not going anywhere in 5th.
