the work vs-xx's are straight, but the +22 is gonna be a problem up front, and you will need to run a spacer to clear the calipers (I currently have about less than a mm clearance with my +27's up front). And running a spacer on the front is gonna bring it into the teens, and you're gonna seriously run into fender clearance problems. Only way I could see it working is if you slam the car all the way to nearly the ground and tuck fingers. It's a risk though.

Work vs-xx's are available all over the place, so wait on a better fitment w/ 3x offsets.

the SSR's are NOT for our cars...that old school mesh is nasty and belongs on truenos and maybe an s13, but not on a CL. But if you want to be different...then do what you feel

http://www.memoryfab.com/wheels/used/a20070720172816/

Almost got these before I decided to go with 18's.

I've always been a fan of those old school enkei racing S's. Remind me a lot of the Blitz type 01's, just with less spokes. I know, I know...look similar to rota gt3's/gab sports, but I'd much rather own a set of quality enkeis than rotas any day of the week.

And that price point is very nice...you can have them refinish each wheel for another 400 and have basically brand new old school hotness w/tires for about a G. Polished spokes or gold powdercoated spokes would look hot.

i like those SSR's

i would also look into White Regamaster EVO's. they tend to be smaller but look very good.

yeah rega evo's are beast

but 17" = money$$$$$$

and their offsets/widths tend to be pretty weak

Which wheels are you painting? If you're painting them gold, i found the perfect gold color in a spray can.

if the rims are already off the car, I'd say powdercoat

hand painting rims is an OK method, but its not durable and after a few miles it'll look like shit from all the paint chips

that's not completly acurate. I had my 17's blasted and powder coated, it still chips. a month ago i scuffed, primed and flat blacked my oem's and it has a nicer finish than the powder coat.

plus i spent 400 on the blasting/coating, the spray cans cost me 10 bucks, and i can touch them up. i drive around town all weekend doing deliveries and they aren't getting stone chips at all. just a couple scrapes around the wheel nuts from putting them on the car :o
