New guy

Hey all, fellow Acura owner here, wanted to say what's up and ask a few questions:

I'm interested in buying a 1997 2.2 CL, I went and checked it out, looks pretty nice (a few cosmetic defects), rode fine, felt solid. It has 153,000 miles on it, and he's asking $5,000 for it. KBB Private Party prices it at around $5,200.

Can I get some feedback on my choice? Should I look for something else for around $5,000? Any problems with this year/model? Looking for something very comfortable to drive to work and back in (40 minute country drive to and from work), and possibly modify the look for passerby eyecandy.

I have found 97 2.2's on autotrader with 70k miles for $6900...

so you might want to shop around a little...mileage on that seems high.

i got my '98 w/ 53k on it for $8900 ($10k out the door w/ dealer fees) about a month ago. i wouldn't touch a car w/ that many miles on it.. there are lots of good cars out there. don't settle.

Well the loan fell through (this is a warning, don't let old debts just float), so I can't get it even if I wanted to.

I am still looking for a dependable, comfortable, good gas mileage car to get me to work, the CL seemed to hit that spot. Anyone want to suggest anything else? Imports only please, I'm not fond of domestics unless they are pre-1977.

the V6 accord is practically the same car, but might be a bit cheaper. toyota solara is also very similar, those are great cars too. or volvo.. some of those have an I-5... they are supposed to be good engines.

that's all i can think of right now, but good luck!!
