Welcome to the forum. I am new myself, but that doesn't mean that I am new to the import world. My 3.0CL is my 3rd project from an 89 CRX and a 96 Civic. As far as head units are concerned, I used to work for Circuit City and I am completely sold on Alpine as my first choice and Kenwood as my second choice. Kenwood fell off for a couple of years, but has recently come back pretty strong. I currently have a Kenwood Excelon head unit with a vicious JL Audio set up and I have the headaches to support my claim. Good luck to you on selecting a radio, but try to simply select something that is covenient and user friendly. It makes no sense to buy something that comes with functions that you don't plan on utilizing.

I haven't realy had time to take any pics, because I came home on leave from Iraq and bought the car. I got to enjoy it for about 2 weeks and had to go back. The pics that I have are the ones that I jacked from the advertisement and they don't do the car any justice. I am about to make some serious upgrades when I get home in January, ie. suspension, Brembos and a new paint job. Once I get on the level of some of the heavy hitters in the forum, I will definitely post some new pics. Uncle Sam is making it possible for me to spend a little bit, so I have to take advantage of it. RESPECT TO ALL

 

If your lookin for the Kenwood, heres a guy locally close to me (OP Kansas) and hes selling one. Heres his add in "craigslist." Its only a month old add, so maybe he still has it? You could just call him and send him a moneyorder (if you think u could trust him....might have your bro call for u)

But non the less, I agree that both the Kenwood and the Pioneer units are good. I've actually got a Sony but im going to sell it hopefully soon (w/ the dvd/cd/mp3 player & tv tuner) so I can get the new Panasonic screen.
