I wasn't downing our cars, I know what CL stands for, I've owned mine for 4 years, and have been on this forum since before I bought it. I am just saying, she calls german engineered cars crap but our "japanese luxury cars" are made in ohio Which by her definition makes it "american crap"

true... i hear what ur sayin... either way i wouldnt be caught in ne thing that gets less that 15mpg the way gas prices are....

Oh by the way...

On May 15th 2007, all Acurazine members are asked to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are + members currently on the Az forum, and the
average car takes about 20 to 40 dollars to fill up.

If all Az members did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would out of the oil companys pockets for just one day,

so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the
Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

Definately don't forget to tell everyone you know even if they don't drive and encourage them to tell everyone else too.

Umm yea, mercedes bought them, and then dropped them when they realized how unreliable the things are. And guess what, the 1994 dodge intrepid won all kinds of awards when it first came out, now its on the "Cars to avoid" list b/c the trannies are poo poo. Chryslers are ridiculously unreliable, and mercedes isn't the best either. And they may be made in Ohio, but they have japanese ideals behind them, hence why honda's only main problems were the 99-03 3.0 and 3.2 trannies, and body rust back in the day. And thats not a real hemi, find a hemi from a 72 challenger, thats a real hemi.

Don't get me started on 94 dodge intrepids, when I had my Trans Am, that was my beater car, when I had it it was on it's 4th tranny and it was on the way out. I'm not saying Chryslers are better than acura, but Mercedes engineers did have a big influence on their new designs, and yes they are selling the company. My point was more to point out what you said about them being "american trash" yet you drive a car made in America. And yes, the only hemi's I really respect are the old school chargers and challengers

Honda's trannys are pretty scarry to me. My Mom's Civic tranny went out at 45,000 miles... its an 02. I think their motors is where its at, and there manual trannies aren't that bad.

I liked your TL over the 300c, too many cheap non-Hemi versions out there. You will see youself going and coming and you did'nt leave your driveway. The TL has better quality interior, textures and contours. 300c's I sat in smell like pure plastic but enjoy your purchase. GOTTA GO 24" ON THE 300C A MUST!!

When I talk about american or japanese cars, Im talking about the companies, not where the cars are specifically manufactured. We have japanese engineering backing up our cars, they have american engineering which has become obselete to ours.

LOL guys i did not want to trade in my TL for no 300c believe me im not an idiot. I had put a 5,000$ down on the TL and I made the contract and then a 3 weeks later the dealer calls me saying that they want another 4,953$ more "I WAS LIKE WTF FUCK" "FUCK YOU" and have your TL back. For a month and 1/2 i tried finding for another stick TL but nothing so I needed a car that was nice and had luxury so I went with it. Btw as soon as next year march comes around I plan on getting the Lexus ISF so i really dont care right now.

PLUS this crappy american car has extended warranty so basically it can be my beater for now.

OK, and the new 300C's had german engineering behind them That's all I'm gonna say, don't make such broad statements about "crappy american cars" without knowing what's behind what you say

I had a chrysler 5th avenue before my CL, and I paid 800$ for it. I drove it to and from school for 3 years and it only needed a starter towards the end. I didn't pay for anything else on it. That was supposed to be their best motor they have built I guess though.

Honestly, I know what your saying, but there are some diamonds in the rough of every manufaturers. The only problems USA makers have is they get to comfortable making a decent car that last, but then don't invest in the future... Take a Lincoln towncar for example, the car is great, but it hasnt change since like 1990. The USA got greedy, and fell behind. Toyota is going to be awesome here very soon because all they do is make the best cars they can, take a part of their profits, and invest in new technology. Therefore, the can ask their sticker price and actually get it.... GM and Ford ask 50k for a car and only get 40 for it because they can be talked down, their system is flawed and they better figure it out soon. I think Chevy actually is because they finally made a new motor with the Cobalts that came out, instead of sticking their 20 year old 3.1, 3.8. 2.8 motors in it...I could go on and on, and I'm sure you all want me too, but the moral of the story is the USA got more greedy than they were worth.

Older chevy was actually quite reliable, but chrysler and ford are just a joke in my eyes. This is post 1980.

btw, i believe mercedes adopted the 300 body in europe and loaded a turbo diesel motor in there instead. now it gets great gas mileage and the car is pretty reliable.
