Need some help yo
After doing some research on a few things (seafome, switching to synthetic oil) I started to realize that my little weekend "project" I had planned wasn't going to be so little. I planned on doing the seafome thing and then changing the oil right afterwards using synthetic oil. What I learned is that doing either may cause oil leaks because the engine’s clogged areas would be unclogged causing leaks. So, I’m thinking I should change the oil pan gasket ,oil pan plug and plug gasket ,valve cover gasket and head gasket.
To the questions. I have 83,xxx miles on my 98 2.3, if I were to perform the seafome and synthetic switch what are the chances that my car would leak? If a leak is inevitable, where can I buy a good gasket set online? And how difficult would it be to change just the head gasket?

DO NOT go from reg oil to full synthetic. It is bad for the engine. You need to use a blend for the first couple of changes then use a full synthetic. Im not sure exactly why its not good for it, i just know that it is not!.... I dont think that leaking should be an issue, but im sure you can get a gasket set from your local auto parts store. Just ask for a 98 accord 2.3 gasket set.
I cant imagine a gasket change being too hard, jsut a lot of work.

Good lookin` out Swerv. I figured since I was going to put some of the seafome into the crank case that it would pretty much dissolve all the sludge that was in there just as if one were to just switch to synthetic. But just to be on the safe side I'll get those's gaskets and the synthetic blend motor oil.
