Need help from fellow 2.2 CL'er

I need a 97 2.2 CL owner to take a picture of the vtec solenoid located on the upper left corner of the engine block, I need to figure out the wire color for the vtec pressure switch, located underneath the vtec solenoid. If someone could snap a pic of the solenoid (side view) and the pressure switch and also look at what color the wire is for the pressure switch that would be great

I don't think I understand where it is? I'll take a picture if you further explain the location.

look where youre describing, its got a harness plugged into it, and theres only one wire on it, so its gonna be easy to tell, it should be some sort of green wire

To further explain the location... Look straight at your valve cover. On the upper left corner of your valve cover, just a little behind the cover, there is a small cylinder (1 inch tall by 1 inch wide). That's the vtec solenoid. I am looking for a picture of the vtec pressure switch, located beneath the solenoid. It should be connected by a green pigtail harness... I am looking for a picture of where the harness connected to the vtec pressure switch is coming from and what the wire color is... must be from a 97 2.2 because apparently the 97- 98/99 Cl's are different because of the f22b1 vs. the f23a1...

I think that most honda engines are similar in the location/apperance of the vtec pressure switch. I know my h22 one looks just like the one on my old CL. i'll take a closer look today, im sure its the same shit.

The vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch are one single unit. The top part is the solenoid and the bottom part is the pressure switch. On my car only the solenoid is plugged in and the pigtail connector for the pressure switch is nowhere to be found. The connector on the pressure switch is empty. I think it would be the same since my car is a 97 and it has a motor from a 98 but then again I wasn't the one who did the swap so I dont know,... it's really pissing me off since my vtec probably never worked and it may be the reason why I get severe hesitation and sputtering at wot...

anyone?? this is a picture of the vtec solenoid... you can see towards the bottom a grey connector with nothing connected to it. I'm looking for where that connector comes from and what color wires are coming from the connector....

mine does not have the same connector down there, it is a single pin hanging from that rusted bracket you have there. It's green with a white stripe on the solenoid side which goes directly into it, and ecu side of the plug it looks green with a yellow stripe. Pics in a sec

Now I'm pretty sure this is the vtec solenoid but I am no mechanic and this is in the region you showed. But let me know, I could be wrong and this could be for the EGR. I am sure you guys will know.

Top of the connector - harness side. It looks yellow in person as far as i can pull back the covering, but it may just be stained.

Wire going into the solenoid - Pulled back the rubber and this was def. a white stripe

Overview

Edit: Looking at your picture again, you have that blue wired I guess hooked to the item I took pictures of. Going back outside to look again, maybe I missed something.

The blue wire that was hooked up in my picture was just for a vtec light that I made a few years back... Here's a picture of exactly what I want... It's located just below the pics you just took I figured out the vtec solenoid so I need a pic of the other part im clueless about...
The area that I want to see is circled in red

Here's what the area will look like to you...(metal bracket holding distributor connectors)

Here's what it looks like with the bracket removed...(gives you a better view)

As you guys can see in the pics, my vtec pressure switch is unplugged and I am trying to figure out what color wires are supposed to go to the connector. I have already sourced a connector from a part I previously removed from the car so all I'm missing is the wire colors...

Is that a 2 pin connector? mine is not right under it but i do have a grey round 2 wire plug to the right of the heater core outlet hose on the side of the block near there. I was going to pull back the rubber to see what colors they were but I had just parked and I didn't want to scald my hand. I'll bring my camera to work tomorrow and do it once it cools off. Will bring it into the bay and get some light in there. Does seem odd that you have that connector right there and I don't, but I guess that is just the difference between the F22 and F23.

That's really weird,... the connector should be there, I saw it with my own eyes on a friend of mine's f22b1 that he swapped in his older prelude

Well i searched around a bit on google about the pressure switch. It's supposedly just an on/off switch one side gets grounded and the other goes to the ecu. I thought that 2 pin plug on the side of my block might be it since there is no other plug under the vtec solenoid. But after looking at my f22b2 5th gen accord, it has the same plug on the side of the block. So anyways, I searched all I could on my motor and there is no such plug that you have anywhere. The only oil pressure switch I know of is on the back of the block above the oil filter. Had to replace that already because of the leaking they tend to do. I'm actually kinda wondering how my vtec engages if I can't find said pressure switch.

That's why I'm going through all this trouble to get to the bottom of this... So you've checked your f22b1 on your car right below the vtec solenoid, there is no connector at all? That's really weird... it means that the f22b1 from the CL is different than the ones that came in the 94-97 accord because my buddy has one from an accord and he has the pressure switch... but since you don't have the switch on your car, it would explain why I can't find the connector and cant find any info on what pin it should be connected to at the ecu... I might have to wire a toggle switch to engage VTEC

EDIT: could you take a pic of the side of your vtec solenoid/pressure switch assembly so I can see what it looks like... I might just go out to a junkyard and pick one up...

you should just take your car to a reputable shop in your area and see if u even need to get that all taken care of. It might not be necesary and you'd be going through all this trouble for nothing

Yeah, I've been thinking about it because there's an awesome shop 15mins away from here but if I can figure out as much as possible before taking the car there it will probably be easier since it will probably be the first CL they see there
