hi guys need help i bought black 96 honda civic .on the roof clear was peeling off i did sand papper 400 grid and remove all the clear .plz can any one tell me if i do the black paint do i need to do clear coat again if yes how many coat of black paint do i need to do and how many coat of clear do i need to do?after paint do i need to do sand papper how many grid do i need to use on paint and how many gride do i need to use on clear?

 

If you sand through the black base color to primer, you will need to re-spray some black base coat. If not, and you can clean up w/ alcohol carefully, you should be able to spray some urethane clear coat to "tie-in" to the existing. Some buffing is required to blend the repair to existing.

There are two-part spray bottles of urethane base and clear coat available for repairs, but they are expensive.
