Need a favor from some 3.0ers

I need to know how the trans shifts under certain conditions.

From a stop give the car about 40% throttle, it should shift at about 4000 rpms if you do this. What I need you to do is let off the throttle completely right before it shifts, so at about 3800 rpms.

how does it shift? hard, soft, smooth, slow?

thanks

HARD. pops, if you let off right b4 the shift... it kinda pops back down to 37-3800. FYI, i have 160,000+ miles on a original tranny.

Yeah, that will happen with pretty much any cars, I hate when people do that and they don't even realize it. give it a ton of gas, and then right when its about to shift let off? I don't get why people do that.

i do it so it shifts to the next gear, i do it with every automatic car i drive, if i dont let off the gas it'll probably take it upto 4-5k or redline.

your car shifts from 1-2 at redline when you give it 40% gas??...that doesn't sound healthy

well, I thought I was, and had it sent back to them to check it out, but they took it apart and redynod it twice, and didn't find any problems, so I guess that's just how it is.

just wasted $975 and a month and a half without my car I guess. Shoulda made this thread before I sent it back

how about when comming to a stop, when it downshifts into first right before you stop. does it do a hard shift then?

You should do some research on aftermarket stall/torque convertors and see what symptoms they come with. I'm sure you can find tons of info on that kind of product in the American car forums.

well I first asked other people who had a dr evil and they said they didn't experience the shudder I had, but then again they were all accords. It hink 'm teh first first gen CL to get a dr evil, so maybe there is a slight difference int eh cpu that causes it to do that?
