need advise

I recently had a rebuilt transmission put in my 98 2.3 auto. The car only had 65K when my first tranny went out. I've read a lot of posts about the auto trannies, and it sounds like my rebuilt one will go too. The car drives a lot better, but rough shifts are still slightly noticable to me. I would be willing to bet that my new tranny will keep getting worse, and I'll need a new one again. All these problems are too much for me! Does anyone have any advise for me cuz I don't really want to get rid of the cl, but selling it seems like my only choice. I don't have the time, money, or patience to deal with more tranny problems!

I just paid 2k for a rebuild. Can't afford anything else. A h22 engine and transmission would be great tho.

ya i kinda got screwed. my car broke down in the middle of nowhere and there was only one shop I could take it to without having my car towed like 150 miles. I really wanted to get my car out of there and to a better shop, but my parents wouldn't do it. Since they were fronting me the money I had no choice. It took them from Nov. 19th to Jan 4th to finally get it running(the mechanic said he lost around $10k in labor time- prolly b/c he had no clue what he was doing). So you can see why i'm pissed to have finally gotten it back and the shift quality is still not that great. Right now the tranny reminds me of when I first noticing problems about a year ago, so naturally, I think it will get worse over time. I hate to say it but I think my only option is to sell the car.

The 3.0 sucks for some people but havent heard many problems with the 2.2/2.3 auto. I think many people did a manual swap or h22 swap.
