n00b intro/question

whats goin on guys?

im the newest in the 1st gen section and i just wanted to let you guys know..

i own a primrose 97' 2.2 and all i got so far is k-sport coils & a WW front lip. I'm looking to have big plans for teh CL, especially the motor but right now im just working for the summer to make some $$ for when i go back to school in sept...

now to the fun stuff, just last week my tranny (5spd) took a shit on me but i lucked out and found a h22 lsd tranny for a good price. Everything is all good but the only thing is that the tranny is from a 93' lude & i was wondering would the CL tranny mount bolt right up to it with no issues or would i need the prelude mount?

the reason i ask is cuz there's a guy i know from around town who also has a 5spd CL and his tranny went to so he put in a f22 tranny from a 90' accord but he couldn't bolt his CL mount to the tranny and when he used the accord mount it didn't line up with the CL mount bracket..

so will i have the same luck with the h22 tranny or can the CL mount bolt up to it?

Thanks alot guys..

Welcome!

i remember another guy on here had an h22 tranny on his f22 motor, but the problem was that the car topped out at 110 and couldnt go past that due to the gearing in the tranny mated with the f22 motor. So i'd say look deeper into that before purchasing the tranny.

The h22 tranny has shorter gears and allows you to accelerate quicker but it cuts down on top end speed. As far as the h22 tranny bolting up to your car, it should drop right in. You might want to PM shineynitelite if you have more questions about the h22 tranny on the f22 because, at one point, he was running that setup...
