Yesterday I had to add some wiper fluid under the hood but when I went to close it, the damn thing won't latch. It stays shut because of the saftey latch but the main one won't stay. Anyone have ideas? I tried spraying the spring with wd40 but that didn't seem to work. Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?

you probably left something under the hood and it's preventing it from shutting.

Nope, I checked. The hood will shut the whole way it just won't stay shut.

pull the hood release and have a buddy look at the latch itself..

try taking a screwdriver and popping the latch back out. Sometimes its possible to get it in the closed position with the hood still up.

maybe all the bolts are slightly loose and it moved?
