theres was this guy that use to beat me before my swap and someone told him that I swapped my engine and he started talking shit to them. saturday night I was at the gas station where we meet on saturday nights and I saw him pull in, he stopped to talk to a friend of mines then my boy came over to me and said he wants to run. I got in my car and headed for I-95 with him following me, got to a roll in 3rd at about 5500rpm and then we hit it, I pulled like car and a half and held him off, (now for the good part) we for it a second time from a third gear roll, as I started to pull he tried to shift to 4th and went into 2nd (I heard tires chirp) and the engine blew. Get this though, it's all on video and I tried to email it to the person on here that hosted my last video but on AOL can only mail up to 16MB and the file is 31MB, what can I do? I have it on disk also.

 

We gotta find a way to get this up, i wanna see!

I've driven a 330 they are alright..not the fastest car, but chipped with H/I/E they are quick as fuck.

Did he find out whats wrong with his motor yet? I'd be surprised if it really "blew" considering it's stock or close to stock. It's kinda hard to define a "blown" engine......sometimes it's just a blown headgasket, sometimes fried pistons.....WTF do you think happened to his BMW???? I am really curious

 

a 330 is more CL-S league if you've read the comparison tests. Considering a h22a makes 200 HP and a CL-S makes 260HP...you do the math.

 

Yeah if I remeber right I read a few kill stories where the 330's beat stock CL-S's.

German hp ownzzz! when i had my f23 150 hp + e/i/h, my friends GF's stock 150 hp 1.8T golf killed me after 50mph

 

Speed is alot more than just HP. Gearing, powerband, etc etc all come into play.

 

yeah no shit, but i'm just saying that i think they under rate their hp. I guarentee it would make more power on a dyno compared to a 2.3 CL.

I haven't heard or seen of that cat since that night so I dont know exactly whats wrong with the motor, but whatever it is, it's not good. If you miss miss a gear and downshift to the point that the tires chirp, thats not good. He tried to start it after we stopped and the motor just turned over, so I dont know. I'll see if I can come into contact with them this weekend.

 

yeah it's not good for the motor to downshift into the wrong gear, but still, the car should have some sort of rev limiter or fuel shutoff so it can't hurt itself.

i've watched a number of my friends do the old 4 to 2 shift and my car was fine, same with my friends spec-V. Anyone know if BMW's have rev limiters?

 

rev limiters are worthless in this situation. the engine is not being rev'd it is being pushed by the wheels and the mass of the car against the gears, therefore cutting off the fuel would be pointless.

 

uhh well it wasn't pointless when my dumb friends shifted into 2nd going 90mph in my CL Once when I was drunk and let my sober friend who had never driven stick before drive my car, he was going like 55 in 2nd gear and somehow managed to jam it back into 1st! car was still fine

 

The rev limiter and fuel cutoff did nothing to save your engine. Either he pushed the clutch back in fast enough/did not let it all the way out in the first place/ or you just got lucky.

guess i just got lucky cause on numerous times, they didn't know what the fuck to do, they put it into the wrong gear and when the car jerks forward, they look at me like somethings wrong with my car then I yell "put the clutch in!!! I've only let like 2 friends drive it with the h22 in it. Don't need anyone fucking that up

 

yeah a 325 is a good race for my CL 3.0 i/e. BMW does an awesome job with hp, gearing and rwd.
