chris i finally saw the pictures on the top of the page cuz ive been only accessing AZ at work really. the engine bay looks 10x cleaner then mine.
can you please post detailed pictures so i can see what was removed and whats there. i wish i had a 98/99 the ABS system in the engine bay is just totally unsightly on the 97's.

Since i'm a fiend as u all know, i purposely drove aimlessly around NY highways for the past few days to put 350+ miles on my clutch so i could go all out lol. Raced a modded 98 mustang GT which was an AMAZING race a day ago , my frat bro's 3.5L Maxima, and 2 altimas during a group cruise session last night. All i can say is that i LOVEEE this car . I feel as if everyone that wants to race picks on me cuz they have no clue what my car is capable of lol. And its only been 2 days since I've started pushing it.
Still tweaking it here and there, but even with the bouncing idle it runs really well. Gotta get a new knock sensor, that will help even out the idle some too. With the new ECU and the stage 2 clutch, 1st gear is too aggresive to use for regular driving though, at least for me. I use 2nd gear to move from a dead stop and it behaves like the F23 motor and tranny did in 1st gear. Isn't that weird?

aggressive as in as soon as it catches it wants me to do 90 mph lol. The immediate engagement is just really apparent in 1st gear making it harder for a slow smooth launch. I'd have to ride the clutch which i of course don't want to do, so i start in 2nd instead and that solves the issue.

maybe u just have to warm the clutch up? thats how my friends clutch was on his evo. it would be really rough to work with at first but once it was warmed up it was a lot smoother to work with and grabbed like crazy.

i drove my car to queens today. i adjusted the valves and it sounds smoother. still shooting smoke when accelerating though. i honestly think its a tunning thing. I read that a 99-01 Accord IAT will fit the Euro-R mani. Im gonna call the tunning shop tomorrow and see what I can do.
Chris. I have raced a stock auto maxina and have taken it by the end of second gear. As far as a GT Mustang I dont know.

My BRAND NEW tuned ecu from Phearable burnt out on me. Thats why the car wont start. Plugged in the old one and she fired right back up. I contacted them about a replacement with those same great basemaps today, lets see what they say. Hopefully they'll stand by their product.

Yeah um kumar you took too long with that so i just stole it off my boy's H22 for free since he didnt want power steering LOL. Free power steering ftw! Haven't put it on yet though. Gotta go to Maryland for my dad's wedding this weekend so i wont be in NY again till Monday. Leaving in like 20 mins.
I can't even begin to tell you how true that is lol. Swap is annoying with its tweaks here and there and setbacks, but when the car is running and that vtec kicks in at 4500 all the way to 8k, damn is it fun lol

WELLLLL it looks like my headgasket is blown as i suspected. At least thats what it seems like. Severe stuttering, misfiring, lack of acceleration, and a shitload of white smoke. So since i an gonna be pulling off the head anyway, i'm adding these all at once along with the new headgasket.
450cc blue top injectors, with resistors and connectors:
Skunk2 heat treated stage 2 cams, valve springs, retainers:
And thanks to Shaun i now know how i can fit the Skunk2 IM and TB along with the AEM fuel pressure regulator, fuel rail, and liquid filled gauge.
Also a tune with the new p28 i'll be getting back from Phearable.net and a port and polish job probably. Another 1600 outta my pocket . Next time around i know to break the engine in correctly and not go racing with only 200 miles on a motor that has been sitting in a warehouse or on a shelf for god knows how long.

I got it from osakajdmmotors.com, the WORST company to buy from. Their price was so cheap that i just jumped on it without reading any reviews on them. Took forever to get the damn motor, then it came with no power steering, wire harness cut, and a myriad of other little issues. Motor turned out to mechanically be great, definitely tore it down to make sure of that, but their customer service sucks really bad. I guess its the luck of the draw with that company.
Lesson: Review and research before you buy, and break in periods are CRUCIAL!

ahhh i remember the excitement of getting my car back when it was freshly swapped lol. sorry to bump an old thread, guess i'll update and say the issue mentioned earlier wasn't the headgasket, it was faulty injector wiring flooding my system by running full duty cycle because of a damaged wire, and that i got a tune and exhaust coming within the next month. Oh and that 1/2 the parts in pics on this page are still in the box LOL.

everyone has their own tastes i happen to like civics as well. also im saying its hard to compete with a light weight car and its cheaper to go faster in a civic especially an ef or eg. that is a fact. for example my boy has a hatch with a stock b20v..shit runs 14 flat. i still prefer my car over a civic though thats why i turned down alot of offers. im the only cl in my town that is slightly modded the rest are bone stock.

I've honestly lost count of how much money i've spent on the setup. Upwards of 5k, i know that for a fact lol. As for fast civics, i've ran a few of em, and even though its cheaper to go faster in a civic i now find it rare to find one that can keep up with me. I also chose to mod the CL for its individuality, everyone is always shocked when they see my modded CL, and even more shocked when i wave bye to them as i pass em lol.
