Mounting Autometer Gauges by Radio
I am trying to figure out the best material to use for my center console to mount my Autometer Gauges and Stereo. I have three gauges(A/F, Oil Press, Water temp) that will fit horizontally (either below or above my stereo.) I was thinking about attempting to make the gauge mount myself, does anyone have any suggestions on what material to use? What would look good with the almond trim?
Maybe something like THIS, but the gauges will have to be straight across to fit my stereo. I know there are alot of creative minds in here...........Suggestions?????????????

What color spray paint? Should I make it look almond? What do you think Silver would look like with the SPORT COMP Silver faced Autometers?

I agree, I appreciate the suggestion of mounting the gauges on the A-Pillar, but I have considered that already and feel that it would rob me of my "SLEEPER" look.
I think I will go ahead and paint the piece that I mount to Black....
Fiberglass or Aluminum?

Try milling a cluster out of a sheet of alluminum, or pollished stainless. that would look hot. Another idea is to get some plexy, but I think you already thought of that. You could use fiberglass, but what a pain in the ass.

I had an idea once where you would take aa A pillar guage pod and have it custom molded into the side of the center console and repainted to match the car. It would look kind of like the old Vipers.

Those are nice, or you could go for something like this, if you want some factor
