How many of you have actually done the H22 swap? And what kinda numbers are you getting? HP, TQ, 1/4 mile times, 0-60 times. $ invested?

I am not exactly interested in what the searches show. The searches are going to show me old info and emotions at the time they did the swap for the most part. What I am interested in is there actual numbers and whether they would do it all again. I have read the H22 swap guide, but that dosnt tell me whether I would just be better off buying a prelude and forgoing the swap entirely.

i can count 4 members that are curently active that have done the h22 swap.
off the top of my head:
SupraManAG
972xGhost
Playah8ata
NiteNitez
Dainffamous has a h23vtec, which is similar.
Might wanna PM these guys.

To answer your #s question;
Most people swap the JDM H22A
200hp
161 tq
10.6:1 Compression
You're looking at about 2K for the engine, tranny,ECU, Starter, Alt, PS Pump usually are included. You'll need a H22 exhaust manifold. And installation labour and wiring. So in total around 3K, depending on who you know and where you get it done.
0-60 and 1/4 Miles times dont really exist cause no professional ever tested an H22 CL.
a 4th Gen Prelude will do 60 in 6.5 and the 1/4 in about 15 flat. theres about a 120 lb difference between a 2.x and a Prelude.

Well, if I do it I will do it myself, and will probably mod as much to the motor as possible while it is out of the car. I am thinking of just keeping my eyes peeled for a block or complete motor, buying it and building it as I get the money. Those things are a little easier to find around here than they are where alot of you people are. 2 days after I bought my car I came across a H22 prelude at Pull-a-part that had been rear-ended HARD. I didnt realize what it was at the time, like I said, this is my first honda product. I went back last sunday for something on my girlfriends fathers car and it was gone. Still, pull-a-part charges 120 bucks for a complete 4 cyl motor. At that price I can certainly keep my eyes open. Thanks for the answers.

They have a website, complete with pricelist and inventory for each location. They are a national chain. You all should check it out, see if there is one near you. I live about 10 minutes from one. There policy is that no matter what the vehicle is, the part costs the same. For instance, a bumper is 28.31 or something close to that, it dosnt matter if its for 2005 bmw or a 1986 ford escort. All cars are equal sort of thing.

well whats your hp goals? when you figure that out then look at your options for the price. you can do a nice nos setup for no where near what you would spend on the swap. and get the same hp output. a 65 shot will get you around 205hp 200tq with cai headers. most of us went that way because we have the need to be different as well as go fast. but nobody can tell you how to spend or how to do your car, thats all you. but you really need to search not only here but other places as well. there is alot of f22 motors making good power in 3-400hp range with a turbo setup. but if your out to be a top dog somewhere your going to spend 3x as much even if you do most of the work. but good luck

Unfortunately I have a disease called over the top-itus. Had this same problem with my Chevelle. Lost my ass on it too. Divorce=sell the damn car=lose a whole lot of money, blood, sweat, and tears. I just figure the H22 is a much better place to start from, I really dont want a high strung f22 modded to its breaking point. I have researched it a little and came across a guy who successfully mated the H22 head to the f22 block, boosted it and had driven it about 15k with minimal problems to date. Something else to consider.

H22 head on F23 block = G23 swap. ALOT more meticulous work involved than you think, but might be worth it if the CL isn't your daily driver or is just a project car. Go H22, build it up, slap a turbo on the bitch (HULK has about 470hp on his H22 turbo, and its capable of more) and beat up on all the cars around you. Period.

He might have all that stuff on his car, but let me be the 1st to tell you his all motor setup H22 is BAD ASS. blueprinted block, fully built head, stage 2 cams, and a shitload of complementing mods. That thing is straight up FAST, when i heard his 2step at the meet i salivated. And outlaw is the 1st Smog Legal H22 swap in the state of california in a CL. Has a black CL with projectors i believe. I thought you'd know that Dicorp lol.

Yeah. I've also heard a thing or two. I've heard H22 turbo. K20. K24 block with K20 head. SC H22 N/A H22. He does not have a EuroR H22. I dont think they even make a euro-r H22. You have the F20B but no H22

Ofcourse they do bro, if they didn't i wouldn't have these waiting for my H series (skunk2 stage 2 tuner series)

They make a whole bunch of cams. Jun, Skunk2 Pro and Tuner series, and Blox are some companies i can think of just off the top of my head.

What are the expected gains from those bad boys and are they going to be monstrously loud?
