More small town frustration
I am still stuck out here in Iowa at school away from the normal world. Friday I was driving in what they describe as "Down Town" and a townie comes up to my window and says "Damn this car is sweet, its one of those Olds Arouras' right" Has anyone else had a First Gen mistaken for an olds?

Never an olds but when we got the car in late '96 ppl thought it was expensive. Actually someone the other day said something about my parents must be rich to buy me a 40 thousand dollar car HAHA not even close

i've gotten both...i've had girls come up to me in school and tell me how they liked my car and all that stuff...and i've also had people tell me that my parents must have been rich to give me the CL...

yeah when i go home i get a bunch of shit like that

yeah.. everyone always assume "integra" when i say acura-- they dont know what a CL is

People think the Acura badge is just a status symbol, but I have a honda and its nothing like my CL.

hehehe people here thinks I have a honda with better interior. never that old man car shit! But some of my friends are comparing my car to lexus IS and they don't even know mine is a I4 they thought it is a V6. hehehehe and one timeI was driving with a few friends in my car and this fixed up integra pull up at a red light and wants to race me. my friend rolled down the window. and said sorry, not racing with different grades.

Yes I go to U of Iowa, Jamz was correct. And I bet CLUofI that you have a red 22 with a DTM muffler and clear bumper lenses with stock rims???? Am I correct. Thats sick 3 out of like 5 CL owners in this entire town are on this message board. It shows CL owners are a tight knit group.

I picked up this girl on a date this past weekend and she thought it was a Lexus :o) She was like: " I was wondering what the difference was with this Lexus and I see it only has 2 doors!!! HA HA HA! She's an air head but she is fine!!!
It is automatically assumed that if you have an Acura you spent some money. I've heard it a few times. Even at work and these are Computer professionals. I had a black BMW before this one. I bought my Acura for $17500 about a year ago. They hold their value pretty good.

I'venever had anyone mistake my car, but i have gotten so many compliments on it. One thing I do notice, not a lot of rice rockets try to race me...unlike my accord, they would swarm all over me. Chicks do dig the car, i know hella girls that love my car.

Girls do really seem to love the car, which is a good thing. I remember my exgirlfriends parents thought I was completely loaded because I was driving a brand new $40,000 car my senior year of highschool. Suckers, I got it new for 21,900. I also agree that it is holding its value extremely well. This one girl said my city lights were "cute" when I hit my alarm and they flash on and off. My guy friends really tore me up for having something "cute" on my car, adjustments have to be made.
