More power for the 2.3CL
Does anyone have any suggestions for increasing the power for a 2.3 CL? I've put in a venom 400 chip and weapon R intake and was thinking about headers and exhaust. It's quick for a 4 cylinder but I'd like to push at least 200+ hp. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, the only way you're gonna get over 200 out of that motor is to get a turbo, a blower, a bottle of nitrous, or spend lots of money replacing all the internals with hard core NA parts.

i would say dont waste money on doing bolt ons...u might as well get the j-spec prelude engine...drop it in...six speed manual tranny obd1 ecu and the engine...its supposed to give you 210 hp at the wheels...it has a high compression gas ratio or something like that...then if u want faster throw in NOS and turbo that one...cuz bolt ons eventually will cost the same as an engine swap...thats wat im gonna do if i do anything to the engine...cuz its easier to upgrade a dohc engine rather than a sohc like ours

That's true, I don't think anybody bought the 1st gen cars based on performance. It was more of a looks/comfort thing.
Even after an H22a swap, the car's still not gonna be fast enough to justify the effort, IMO.

The venom 400 is nice and does a good job. They say it'll add 25% but I don't feel quite that much. With some mods in the headers/exhaust, I think it'll be ok. As far as looks, all I've been able to find is the "type R" airdam from wingswest and clear bumper lenses. It makes the front end look a little more aggressive but I want more. Has anyone seen a tasteful body kit for the CL? And as far as wheels, any recomendations?

yo i got I/H/E and after those my venom hauls ass. u will get thrown into ur seat. and i swear my sohc thinks its a dohc. and every1 is so pestimistic about the f22 and f23. yeah no real race car is gonna have an f22 when its way cheaper to drop in a h22. not to mention the potential of the h22 is far superior to a f22. but after I/H/E/P, fpr, igntion, some tb work maybe a new intake manifold. but how manny ppl can spend like 3-6K to have the sawp done. i just spend a little at a time. and my shit is still under warrenty. yeah in the long run its cheaper, but there no way in hell i could keep my cl stock cuz it was too damn slow. listen im with u. go fo it. its just way more expsensive in the long run. but then thats it u really are out of options. thats why h22 is the way to go. i hear the new cl tranny can bolt up to a j30 and now since the accord has the j30 more parts are comming out for it, so if acura makes a 6spd for the new cl and everything works out im thinking about going j30 with 6spd in like 2yrs or so. but then i might just buy a new car. i do love the look of my first gen more then most new cars.

Sorry...not to burst your bubble...but a Prelude with 210hp at the wheel would be putting out close to 275hp at the crank...or at least the 260 like the CL-S, because of the manual tranny....don't believe the hype..if they had a motor like that in production...they would have put it in the S2000.

well i just found out that there might be some sort of prelude type s engine or something...but the tranny is coming from a different car...so its just a six speed tranny which i think is sweet nevertheless...but that prelude engine might be out here sometime soon...
