Misc Parts for sale (Mostly OEM parts)
Since first gen parts get lost in the Black Market, I decided to place this on here. Mods, if it needs to be moved, could it stay here for a few days?
After doing some house cleaning, I came across a few stock parts that I want to get rid of. Prices do not include shipping.
1. Draw-tite receiver hitch, Ball and wiring - $40 - Basically everything you need to be able to tow a jetski or small trailer. Look like this... Can also be used with a bike rack to carry your bikes.
2. Amber Corner lenses. These are the stock amber lenses only, not the springs or bulbs - $20 or best offer.
3. Stock springs - All 4 - $50 or best offer.
4. Air box and diffuser (whatever they call it). This is what was taken out when a CAI is installed - Make an offer.
5. Stock 98 CL, 7 spoke Enkei rims (16x6, 4 lug, 115mm Bolt Pattern) - 3 of them (used). They look to be in decent condition, but I can't say if any are bent. I came across them cheap because I was looking to have a spare set of Winter rims/ tires. $50 each.
4. Optional Alpine (OEM) Trunk mounted 6 disc CD player. Will sell with the mounting bracket and cable if wanted. Make an offer.
5. Indiglo gauges, 5 color. $20.
6. Sunroof wind deflector/ visor with mounting clips. $30 or best offer.
That's all that I can remember right now. For those interested, payment arrangements can be made via e-mail at carmelo_roldan@yahoo.com (Paypal, Cash, check, trade).

That's cool.
Honestly, it took me 5 mintues max to remove/ install once the gauge cluster was out.
Anyone else interested? Last chance before this stuff goes on ebay...

Actually, the picture shows the wires from the gauges. There are four wires (one for each gauge), that you snake through the back of the cluster. At that point it connects to the controller which allows you choose settings for brightness and color (shades of blue, green, purple, etc).
I also connected to the dimmer switch, but I never spliced the 2 wires. I just put them into the end of the wiring harness for the dimmer and plugged it in. I've had the gauges for a while and they worked without a problem!

but it's still 2 wires spliced to the dimmer, running the gauge wires to the control module is nothing.

That's actually what I did. I removed my Indiglo's for the LED's. I miss the White faced gauges though. Plus, now that my gauge lights are blue, now I want to change all of my lights from green to Blue...
Still gotta do the radio, AC, Clock, Key ring, Moonroof, seat warmers, cruise, etc....
The LED's are easier by only a few steps because you are just replacing bulbs. But as I come to find out, the blue looks so good that it makes you want to change all of the other ones too.

I'm interested in the hitch, do you know if it will fit a 97 2.2? Also do you have any pics of it on the car? How old is it, how does it install etc.? While we're at it, can you get me a shipping quote to Grand Rapids, MI 49503?
Thanks
Thanks

I don't have any pics of it on the car. I actually never installed it. I purchase it from someone on eBay a long time ago. They used it on their CL and showed me pic's, but I don't have them. I don't think that the age of the hitch should matter because it's metal. I've had it at least 4 years, never installed. I planned to use it to carry my mountain bike when I used to ride. Especially now that I also have a truck, I never had the need for it.
The install instructions are also on the orginal link. It's very easy to install. However, what they also neglect to tell anyone is that you have to cut a small part of the bumper off. Actually they say "Minor fascia trimming required". Now before you get upset, I know it sounds bad, but it isn't. If you look at the rear of the CL, you have a hook that is near the center just behind the gas tank. That is where the rear of the hitch attaches to. The front connects via 2 holes that already exist in the rear part of the car's frame (the metal part of the bumper). However, in order to get to these 2 holes, you have to cut a 4"x4" notch in the bumper under the car. When looking at the rear of the car, the rear bumper will look normal, and the hitch will rest just under it, barely noticible. The lights have a plug that connects to the stock connector. You will never notice that the bumper was cut unless you look under the rear of the car.
Looks like the shipping is around $10.
Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I would be interested in the hitch if MI2two doesn't take it. Let me know...
Are you sure the two holes already exist? The install guide says you have to drill them yourself. Are all the correct bolts and the u-bolt included?

I'll take the hitch, I just can't figure out how to get the carriage bolts into the frame. Am I going to have to take the whole bumper off to install this thing? BTW, the holes have to be drilled, they don't already exist in the frame. As long as you have all the hardware, $50 shipped will be fine with me. Let me know, thanks.

MI2Two,
I just checked under my car and your right, the holes would need to be drilled. I was always told that they were pre-drilled. My bad. While I was down there, I looked into the issue about how to install the carriage bolts. One of the steps says that you will have to cut a section of the bottom of the bumper. When you do that, that should provide you with enough room to drill the holes and thread the bolts through. The bolts will go through the bottom of the bumper with some nuts and washers above.
I also checked and I don't have the 2 longer front carriage bolts. What I have is the rear U-bolt, nuts and washers. I know U-Haul and a number of other sporting goods stores install hitches. You could checked with them if there are concerns with the install or send e-Trailer a message. The carriage bolts you should be able to pick up from e-Trailers or a hardware store. Just make sure that they will support the weight and that they won't rust.
I can do $50 shipped if you are still interested.

The bolts/nuts would be easy to find at any hardware store. Just make sure you ask for grade 5 (as in GR5 listed in the instructions) or higher would be fine like grade 8. Make sure you get either the lock washers (looks like a split washer that is slightly twisted) or just get the nylon backed locknuts. Don't worry about rusting...
However, you need to buy the 1x2" plates with the square carriage bolt holes as they are what keeps the head from turning when you tighten them. The instructions list a part number for the plates as #3837, so you should be able to order them. According to the instructions, you fish the bolt/plate combo through the frame from the side with a wire or something - then the nuts go on the bottom of the hitch.

That's fine with me. I've already taken a bath on shipping charges with the other 2 items, but I just want to clear this stuff out. I don't plan on using any of them again and I would rather see someone on the board use them if they want them.
Paypal to carmelo_roldan@yahoo.com and I'll ship them tomorrow at noon.
