Question Lucas+Honda MTF+5Speed+Drain/Fill= Help

Yeah, so I'm about to drain/fill my 5-speed tranny soon and wanted to gather every bit of information possible b4 I do it. I've searched for about 2 hours and haven't really found what I was looking for. So I'm hoping someone can help a noob out with a few questions. iight so...

1. What tools are needed to do this?

2. Where exactly do I drain/fill my 5 speed tranny? Also where is the dipstick located?

3. How many quarts of Honda MTF(including Lucas Trans Fix)will be added knowing that some fluid still remains in the trans after the drain?

4. And lastly, will the engine need to be warm prior to the drain/fill?

Good lookin` out in advance.

im not an expert on 5spd tranny fluid change but:

1. there are no dipsticks on 5spd trannys
2. its not like an auto with a drain plug and refill through the dipstick.
3. according to my knowledge u usually change it when u do a clutch cuz u kinda have to take aprat the trany.

thats what i think. i could be wrong though.

There is a drain plug, usually a 3/8 square drive. Fill through the check plug, usually a 17MM on the side. Should hold 2 Qt of Honda MTF

Good lookin out Smoky. Using your info as a guide, I found what looks to be a 14 mm drain plug located on the lower front part of the tranny facing the front bumper. And on the side is the 3/8 square drive plug which the ratchet alone fit right into. The manual states that the 3/8 plug on the side is the "filler bolt" which is used to check the fluid level using your finger. The manual also states that this is where fluid is to be added. Assuming this is all correct and b4 I begin the drain/fill, will the engine need to be at operating temp or cold?

no filter, just remove the drain.. let it all come out, reinstall drain plug. remove fill plug. refill it with what ever brand you want, usually if youve got a lot of miles on it you want to go with 80w90, its alittle thicker than called for but it will shift smoother and slow down the syncromesh faster. anyways refill it thru the upper plug until it starts to come out of the hole. make sure your on semi-level ground. let it come to a slight trickle and reinstall the plug. does you car call for 80/75 oil if so then id go with 80w90.

I'm not sure what my car calls for Its a 98 2.3 5 speed. I'm using Honda MTF with a bottle of Lucas Trans Fix. I have 83,000 miles. Preciate the help Wilp. I can alwasy count on you. Even from my lurking days.
